"hey lucy..." my father suddenly said while i was washing dishes.

"yes dad?"

"we're moving back to japan. my boss transferred my office back there." he continued, looking up from the newspaper he was reading.

i almost dropped the plate i was holding.

it's been twelve years since he last talked about japan. ever since mom died.

she died of cardiac arrest when i was five, my father thought he could hold up and still lived in japan for a few months until he decided to move to the u.s.

"dad- you sure?"

"yes i am. pack now sweetie. we're leaving tonight."

thats when i dropped the plate.

i washed my hands, told my father to continue the dishes while i shower and pack up.

it was five in the afternoon, and i haven't showered yet.

after my shower, i changed into some jeans, a shirt and dried my hair after.

i packed my stuff that could fit inside my two traveling bags.

after, i put all my stuff, like my phone, charger, powerbank, comb and hanky inside a small black purse and braided my blonde hair. then, i put on my red converse.

i went out to see my aunt, uncle and my two baby cousins, elle and l, the twins.

i greeted them and played with the little babies' hands until my father tod me we were going.

i got my luggage amd went out, not before bidding farwell to our house and my relatives.

we got in my uncle's car because he was driving us to the airport.

my dad explained that he gave our house to my uncle and aunt who lived in a small apartment until recently and that his awesome boss bought a cozy house in tokyo.

an hour later, we arrived.

i bid farewell to my uncle and hand over my luggage to security.

and two hours later, we were on our way to tokyo.
