natsu dragneel

-years later-

"natsu nii-san! you're going to be late! they're already handing out the report cards!" nari yelled through the phone, while i hurried to my car.

"i know that. just give me a little bit more time." i said, driving to the local cemetery.

i heard her sigh before saying and hanging up, "okay then."

i arrived and walked through the cemetery, seeing some families visiting their loved ones who had passed away too soon.

after looking for a few minutes, i found the grave i was looking for.

"where is he?"

"natsu!" a familiar voice yelled.

i turned to see gray and his daughter, agnes in matching navy blue clothing.

"what took you so long?" i said, while handing agnes the boquet of white roses, who was grinning widely at me.

"agnes had to go to the bathroom." he sheepishly said, scratching the back of his neck.

i chuckled before telling him, "i have to go now. take care of agnes okay? you're the only one left for her."

he smiled and nodded, "thank you natsu. for everything."

i smiled back and bid goodbye and gave them alone time.

they both went to the gravestone behind me and placed down the boquet.

reaching the house an hour later (because i had to get nari's report card), i saw lucy in the kitchen making apple slices for the kids, while the twins were running around the living room.

"i'm home~"

the kids came running to me and tackled me to the ground while lucy came in with a plate in hand.

"here kids. i made apple slices for you."

the kids poured their attention on the apple slices and dashed towards it and ate like there's no tomorrow.

"where have you been?" she asked, taking off my jacket for me.

"just did gray a favor."

she chuckled and we both sat on the sofa as our kids ran around the house, apple slices in hand.

i turned on the television, which landed on the sports channel. i watched intently.

lucy became really quiet and i knew why.

"did you think i forgot about today?"

"honestly, yeah."

i chuckled and said,

"happy birthday lucy. i love you."
