we gathered in lucille nee-san's room, where she laid, peacefully like nothing ever happened to her.

the adults talked about her heart transplant while me and nari were busy comforting lucy.

"lucy nee-san! don't be sad! lucille nee-san will wake any minute and she'll be angry at you for crying!" nari said, faking a grumpy voice, which made lucy laugh a bit.

"that's true." lucy said, wiping her dry tears with a hanky.

then, a doctor came in the room, gaining everyone's attention.

"hello. i am dr. kim, specializing in heart surgery. so may i ask what your decision is?" he asked, while my parents and lucy's dad looked at him.

"c-can you give us until this tuesday ti decide?" my mom worriedly asked, and the doctor smiled.

"yes we can. but if you can't give us your decision by then, we're sorry but we don't know what will happen to her." he said, before leaving.

the adults started calling friends, relatives or anyone, willing to help us in this situation, but unfortunately none of them could.

i turned back to lucy and nari. nari was busy playing with a tablet, and lucy became awfully quiet.

"lucy? are you okay?"

"y-yeah. i'll go out to the hospital garden for a while."

she stood up and rushed to the said place. i wanted to give her some alone time but i grew worried that she wasn't back in ten minutes so i went to check on her.

i saw her sitting on an empty bench under an oak tree. she was looking at the sky when i approached her.

"what're you thinking about?" i asked, sitting down beside her, maintaining a good distance.

"i wish i could be a bird." she suddenly said, "have no worries and just fly. fly away from the harsh world we call reality."

she held my hand, turned to me and said, "natsu?"

"h-huh? what is it?"

she chuckled, seeing my tomato face.

"i like you too."

wait, what did she say? am i going crazy now? i don't remember falling on my head.

"w-what?" i asked, still flustered.

she grinned, "i. like. you. natsu dragneel."

i could've died right then and there. i was really happy and got excited.

but that happiness only lasted for a short while.

"thank god. i got that out before i go."

i looked at her, confused and curious at what she had just said.

"what do you mean lucy? where are you going?"

she smiled at me, eyes disappearing and a few tears escaping.

"i've decided to give up my life for my sister."
