Issac sat on his bed, replaying the events that had happened over the past two hours. When he got to Lilly's house to check she was alright, he found Lilly lying in her bathtub, with her wrists slit. Her dad was lying on the floor next to the bath, crying and shouting he couldn't understand.  Issac didn't understand what he was saying, but could tell it was something that Lilly would have understood if she was alive. He and Charlie had helped his dad pick Lilly up out of the bath and get her to a hospital, where she was declared dead.

Issac wasn't alone in his room. Amelia, Archie, Finn, and the band had all gone to the emergency room. most of them were too shocked to cry, but Amelia hadn't stopped crying since she read her letter, which was basically thanking her for being the only true friend Lilly had ever had, and that she was truly sorry to be leaving her. Issac had cried in the bathroom by himself at the hospital, shortly after he read the letter. He saw Lilly everyday. they walked to school together, alone, everyday. He had plenty of opportunity to tell her that he loved her. It ate him up inside that he had effectively killed the girl he loved simply because he was too scared of rejection to admit that he had dreamed of her being his girlfriend since they were 7 years old, and he discovered that girls weren't disgusting. Now he'd never get the chance to tell her.

After  he had forced everyone to leave, it was dark. It was a beautiful night, with the stars shining so bright that they made his skin look ghostly pale as he sat on his roof, thinking of the time when he sat out here with his older brother, and told him that he had brought a ring for Lilly, and spent all his money on it. He was going to ask her to be his girlfriend that very day after school. He held it in his hand now, as his brother climbed onto the roof next to him, grabbing his shoulder. Issac started to let the tears out again, as his brother knew what he was really feeling.

"Issac, you need to know that you never could have saved her. she was a severely depressed girl. The best one's always have the darkest secrets, i would know, trust me. Even if you had asked her to be your girlfriend, even i heard what happened in that assembly today. There's no way you could have stopped her after that shit. She's in a better place now. She's with the stars, and those are your favourite things in the whole world. Every time you look up, she'll be there, smiling at you. You made her happy for a period of time, and there's nothing better that could have been done for a girl like that. " he said, smiling at his younger brother.

Issac smiled, knowing that inside, Lilly would always be with him;But he also knew that he'd never forgive himself for letting go of the first and only girl he had ever loved.
