Chapter 12
I think you're a little confused on why I wish I hadn't gone at all. Well let me tell you what happened. I was walking with my mom, we both had two full shopping bags on our hands.
"Sammy, I will go to the café, want to come with me?"
"If you think it's ok, I'll just go to see the shops meanwhile" I asked.
"Sure, I'll call you when I'm done and we will meet" she said smiling.
I went to Hot Topic and was seeing some CD's when I heard an all too familiar voice.
"Please, babe. You have to understand, she means nothing, this is just revenge against her brother" said Matt huskily. I almost gasped.
"Do you promise me?" said a whining voice.
"I promise" Matt said and it was followed by the sound of people kissing and moaning.
I couldn't believe he was doing this to me! I was at a loss for words and my eyes were beginning to sting. I walk up to them and tapped Matt's shoulder.
"Go away, I'm busy!" he said not looking at me.
"Oh, I know that. Just wanted to let you know that first, I HATE you, second we're over, third don't ever talk or try to come near me!" with that said I slapped him, hard and walked away, the tears falling freely down my cheeks.
I had left him with a shocked and stunned expression and that girl with him was smiling widely. That jerk! I can't believe I thought he liked me! I was beyond mad, I was pissed and sad, he used me like a toy. I began running, I didn't look where, but the farther I was form him the better. I came to a stop at Abercrombie and Fitch, and Tyler was just getting out. I was about to turn around but he saw me and waved smiling before noticing my expression a look of worry came to his eyes and he asked me what was the matter. I just shook my head and continued crying, he putted his arms around me and I sobbed, soaking his shirt. He murmured soothing words to me and after a while I was just crying silently and my phone started ringing. I took it out and answered.
"Hello?" it was barely a whisper and it was difficult for me not to crack the word.
"Sweetie, I'm done where are you?"
"I found a friend...I..." I was about to breakdown again and I looked up at Tyler, he mouthed he could take me home and I nodded. "If you don't mind, he offered to take me home..." I said and my voice cracked a bit at the end.
"Oh, it's ok, then see you at home, love you!"
"Love you too" I said and quickly shut my phone.
"What happened?" asked Tyler again and I told him everything, it took sometime but I finished at last. My voice cracked a lot, and sometimes I had to stop and cry.
"That bastard! I'm going to kill him!" he said furious.
"Please don't...I just want to go...home" I looked at him with pleading eyes.
"Ok, I'm doing it just for you"
When I got home the first person I saw was my brother, I looked at the floor and ran to my room. I should've believed him! I was a reckless and stupid girl, but that won't pass again. From now on I will choose carefully who to trust. I wanted for Brittany to be here so bad, I would call her but it's way too late there. I felt my phone vibrate inside my pocket, I took it out and looked at the caller ID...It was Matthew. Well one thing's for sure, I won't answer him.
I was sitting in my bed looking at my phone, it had 30 lost calls and 20 voice messages. The tears were streaming down my face and someone knocked the door. I quickly brushed them away and said "Come in!"
"Hey sis...I just, umm wanted to say I'm...sorry, I was being an asshole with you" my brother said truthfully looking to me.
"It's ok...you have nothing to apologize for" I said looking away so he won't see the tears forming in my eyes.
"Sis, is something wrong?" he said worriedly and coming closer.
"No, stop just leave me alone" I said putting a hand up but it was too late, he had already seen me.
"What happened?"
"He was using me...ok? Just to get to you! Are you happy now? You were right, I was wrong!...I..." I couldn't finish because I broke up crying.
"He...WHAT? I swear I'm going to kill him!" Dek shouted before putting his arms around me and saying comfort words.
I woke up and saw everything in darkness, I looked beside me at the clock and was 6am. The alarm clock would be off in any minute. I just sighed and got up, last night I decided I will show him me strong side, I won't gave him the pleasure of seeing me suffer. Even better today I will dress better than ever, even though inside I'm breaking. I took a shower and to my closet to pick up what clothes to wear.
At last I decided in a white mini-skirt with a beautiful blue shirt that showed all my curves. I put on more makeup than I usually apply and took everything I needed and went down to eat breakfast.
I ate cereal and went out to my brother's car. He asked me how I was and I told him that better. I could tell he didn't believe me. After a silent ride of 15 minutes we got to school and got out. Yesterday I made Dek promise me he wouldn't do anything to Matt...yet. I walked up to my group of friends and talked as cheerfully as I could. No one noticed except Ashton, who when everyone had gone, he asked me what was wrong and to not lie to him.
"I broke up with Matthew, but please don't make me remember it will just make it worse" I said to him.
"Ok Sammy, come here" he said hugging me and then we walked to class with his arm above my shoulders.
While walking to class I saw Matt observing me, but I looked away and kept walking. Classes went by slowly, it was finally the end of the day and I was waiting for the bell to ring. And 3, 2, 1...RIIING!. I gathered my things and got out as fast as I could. Today it was Tuesday and that meant my brother couldn't take me home and neither could Mike, but luckily Alice could and as I was walking to her car a hand grabbed my wrist and turned me around.
"Sam! At last I managed to find you" said a hard-breathing Matthew.
"Well I have nothing to do with you, so bye" I told him with my hardest tone and tried to walk away but he grabbed me again "Leave me alone Matthew, nothing you say will save you...ok?" I took advantage of his shock and started running and didn't stop until I was in Alice's car.
"What was that about Sam?"
"A jerk trying to fool a girl" I answered not wanting to talk about it and Alice got it since she didn't say a word afterwards.
During the car ride I looked out the window while thinking about everything I did with Matthew. And without knowing I was singing aloud the song "The Good Kind" by The Wreckers and tears were following again. When we arrived at the house and I was about to get out Alice locked the door and looked at me.
"Ok, spill it. Because otherwise you won't be getting out of the car anytime soon"
"Ok" I sighed heavily, why didn't I see this coming? "Matthew was with me to get to my brother, I heard him saying it and also kissing another girl"
"That son of a b*tch! He's a deplorable person a jerk, I can't even find words to describe him!" she said fuming and I couldn't help but crack a smile "But the most important thing is for you to know you're and amazing girl, and you deserve a lot better than him" she finished winking and unlocking the car.
"Well, Al, thanks for everything!" I hugged her.
"What? Aren't you inviting me in?" she said narrowing her eyes, I fake thinking about it.
"Umm, let me see...NO!...hahaha I'm just kidding. My house, your house" I said smiling and opening the door of my house while both of us got in.
