“Who is, Jay? Walter repeated.

All I heard was George laugh before I heard Walter grunt in pain.

I opened my eyes to see both of them fighting.

George was trying to unsuccessfully knock the knife out of Walter’s grasp.

I was stuck, I never felt more helpless in my life. Sure, I was trained in self defense but I only knew the basics of the basics. Nothing compared to what George and Walter were currently engaging in.

Walter was losing too much blood from where he had been stabbed. I panicked.

I looked around the room for something I could hit George with.

Turning around, I looked back at the fighting scene in front of me.

Walter was on top of George throwing punches everywhere. I had no idea how George managed to stay conscious, but he was not going down without a fight.

George managed to push Walter off of him. He reached for something above Walters head and my heart stopped beating.

He spotted the knife I had thrown.

“Walter! Watch out!” My mouth shouted just in time.

Walter reacted faster than I had imagined, thrusting the dagger-like knife into George’s stomach.

I struggled to remember how to breathe in both disgust and shock.

George’s eyes widened as he gasped in pain.

Blood oozed out from where the knife was still in his belly, it didn’t stop him however.

He raised the butterfly knife above his head, Walter wouldn’t have it.

I turned around as Walter dug the knife deeper and slid it through more of George’s flesh until he went quiet.

I opened my eyes slightly and whimpered as both my hands covered my mouth stopping me from screaming.

“Princess, get… Jess…Front desk” Walter said in between gasps.

I didn’t respond at first, I just stood there staring at the lifeless body beside him. I heard my name being repeated over and over again before I slowly peeled my eyes away from George’s body.

“Go.” Walter said weakly.

My brain finally registered the deep crimson patch on Walter’s shirt, along with all the cuts along his face and throat from the knife.

I didn’t waste another second as I ran down the stairs to the front desk, yelling out a name like a madwoman.

“Jess! Jess! Jess!” I yelled as loud as I could, frantically searching the room.

“Can I help you?” A woman in a black pant suit asked.

“Walter! He got stabbed!”

“Sorry?” She asked.

“Aren’t you…cop?” I asked making no sense. “Walter’s stabbed!”

She stared at me blankly for a second before realization hit her. “Princess Elise?”

“Are you not hearing what I’m saying?!” I shouted in a panicked state, “Walter got stabbed! Hurry up and call the ambulance! Do something! There’s a dead body upstairs!” I cried.

She pulled out her phone and dialed a number. “Dave, I need an ambulance, we’ve got-“

I zoned out, I told her what room Walter was in before running back up the stairs to his side.

I had no idea what I was doing. My body was controlling itself as I stripped the bed sheets and ripped them up, pressing half of it against Walter’s side and the other half to the heavily bleeding cut on his neck.

“Walter, I have no idea what I’m doing!” I shouted for no reason in particular. “Stay awake, Idiot!” I shouted when his eyes began to droop.

I got up and ran to the fridge getting a bottle of water before running back to Walter. I pressed on the cut on his side hoping to stop its bleeding while unscrewing the bottle cap. I poured half of the cold water on his face hoping to wake him up. It did.

“You better not sleep! Stay awake!” I said when his eyes began to close again. “Don’t make me do this.” I warned as I poured the rest of the water on him.

“Stop…Wasting…Water.” He managed to say.

I laughed, “It’s not a waste if you stay awake do you hear?” I said throwing the bottle to the side and pressing on both wounds. “Jess, where are you?!” I shouted for the blonde haired woman that was nowhere in sight.

“The ambulance is on its way, Walter.” I said. As if on cue I heard various sirens before five men and two woman –including Jess- barged into the room.
