Once upon a time, my lunch table was exclusively for me and Eve. A month later it was filled with five more people.

Usually, what happened in skate night, stayed in skate night. I mean, say I talked to this one person and have a good time with him while skating. That usually means that we'll probably be good friends, right? But no. On Mondays after skate nights, it was like skate night never happened. That was the flow. That was how it should go.

Well, I mean, sure. It wasn't like I didn't know Ross and Jay before skate night. But, since when did Ross and Jay sit in my territory? I got used to Maven, Phillip, and Marge. But, Ross and Jay are both aliens to my table.

"Why is she giving me the death glare?" Ross leaned left and whispered it to Phillip.

"Ignore it." Phillip told him.

And Ross hesitated at first but then he continued eating anyway. In my mind, I was thinking about just letting him sit here in peace or if I should call him out to a duel.

I should just probably ask for a password that didn't exist until this right very second. Get it right, he gets to sit. If he got it wrong, then good bye to him.

"Ross, the codeword is..?" I said.

Ross looked up and met my eyes with a questioning look. And then he got confused and thought about it.

"Can you give me a clue?" He asked.

"Yeah. The codeword is..." I said again.

"That is not a clue!"

I shrugged. I counted down from 10 to pressure him more. It was at six when Phillip whispered something to Ross.

"That's not right." Ross told him.

Phillip shrugged. "It's worth a shot."

"Worth a shot? How could that possibly be her codeword?" Ross argued. "You and I both know that she's not that smart to think about that."

"Who said she's smart?" Phillip smirked at him.

"Four!" I made my voice rise over theirs as they argued. I know that I'm not as smart as everyone else in this table but, come on. They can't talk about me when I'm literally sitting right across from them. "Three!"

"Rochambeau!" Ross finally blurted out.

My eyes widened. He was right. But, i guess only because Phillip helped him. I eyed Phillip as he was looking down at his food. Then, I gave out a sigh in defeat. "Fine. You and Jay could stay."

"Wait, Rochambeau?" Maven asked. He was sitting at the other end of the table and also on the same side that that I was on that he had to lean forward to see me.

"Yes. Rochambeau." I answered confidently. "You have a problem with that, Mr. President?"

I received stares from the rest of the table. I looked down on my food and tried to not laugh. But, the rest of the table bursted into laughter that soon enough I was laughing with them too.

The laughter died down and we continued eating in silence for a while. At that time, I still couldn't believe that I had friends. Great friends.

At the beginning of the school year, it was just me and Eve. I was satisfied with that. Eve was more than enough for me. But now, I never thought that I'd ever even want something like this. And I do. I loved these people even after only knowing them for a short period of time. I loved their company and I knew that we'd stick together throughout the rest of high school. Well, at least we'd be able to find our way back to each other if we did fall apart.
