For the past few days since I met those three, lunch has been very interesting for me. Was it because that was the only time I ever get to see Maven, Phillip, and Marge?
It was lunch when I got to know them all a little bit better. It was lunch when I knew who Zero really was as well.
Weird.
Today, I got myself some pizza bagels. And that's when I saw them. There were people, other than the usual people-- consisting of me, Eve, and the occasional Maven, Phillip, and Marge-- sitting on my table!
Eve was gone today so I had no back up when I had to confront them to leave. But then again, when it comes to this specific table, I'm unstoppable.
I continued walking towards my table with fury in my eyes. The table was literally full of people I don't know. But, I spotted Lana. She was sitting at MY table. I've been sitting there since I was freshman! Since I moved in High school! Since I've graduated from middle school! Basically that's my territory. And I don't like it when someone invaded MY territory.
I walked in the table with a ready-for-war face. When I got there, I dropped my tray loudly, grabbing their attention. "This table's taken," Lana said, shooing me away.
"Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't know the seats are taken," I said sarcastically, eying all of them. I still have that ready-for-war face on.
And that's when I saw her.
"Lexi, you too?" I asked with disappointment in my voice. I thought she could be trusted.
"What do you want?" Lexi said back. You could clearly hear the embarrassment and regret in her voice.
"What do I want? I want your butts," I pointed my finger at all of them, "off my territory."
I saw Maven coming up this way. His lips pressed together but smiling a little, his forehead crumpled, his eyes annoyed. I let out a sigh, and smiled michievously. He may not be a regular at this table, but I've been having fun around him so far. He's legally allowed to sit in this table.
And he's my back-up for now.
When he got to my table-- I'll still refer to it as my table-- he said, "Hey guys," his voice was bored and eager.
He massaged his forehead and said, "Yeah well, you've gotta get your butts off her territory."
"Hah!" I unintentionally let out. But if the President of the student body is on your side, then I deserve that bragging right.
I put my hand on my hips. "This is the time you guys are suppose to walk away."
One of the girls, stood up and walked over to Maven, she said, "Mavey, why dont you invite your friends over and you can come sit with us."
I stopped myself from laughing out loud with the nickname he just gained. "Mavey?"
"Ooh yes!" Phillip walked over to us, I turned away from him. "Invite me to sit with you, Mavey."
"Actually, the person who's suppose to do the inviting is Angel, not Mavey." Marge stood by my side, holding her tray.
One of them stood up angrily and said, "What?! You'd rather sit with this little," she paused and examined me, "rat?"
I stage gasped. I was never the type to be moved by words. And besides, I've got three very influential people behind me. I may be kinda mad at one of them but. . . He still counted as influentisl.
Mavey, I mean Maven--insert laugh over here-- twisted his head, obviously hiding his smile. "Yeah we'd rather sit with this this rat over here."
Marge finally broke into laughter, and Phillip joined her quickly.
