I cracked my eyes open and looked at the numbers that read 5:30 a.m. being displayed on my nightstand. Just from the mood that put me in, I seriously considered hitting the snooze and not taking a shower.

'Just take a shower, you stink from your run last night.' Camilla decides for me.

I looked down at the the pup as only her nose poked out from under my quilts. Cameron was still asleep under my covers at my feet. At least I think he is, it's not like I can see him to tell. Sighing, I reluctantly pushed the blanket off mine and Camilla's body and stood up.

Camilla looked at me and whined a little. 'I never said you had to wake me up too.'

As I was walking away I saw her snuggle under the covers once again. Going through my closet, I decided on an army green cut off sweater, with more cuts down the sleeves, along with my favorite black, ripped skinny jeans, and my black and white vans.

My shower was short and sweet, and gave me long enough to realize I'm going to walk into school today with my two SA's. Not only did I think about what I will encounter today but I thought about yesterday and the night before.

-flashback-

My father was standing in front of me, my grandpa looked like he had blown a fuse, Marlene was still snarling at the man in front of me, and everyone else just looked like a possum caught in headlights.

"Emilia? Is that you?" he asked me. His eyes had brightened slightly and were starting to fill with tears. Before I could react, he had thrown his arms around me and was squeezing like a vice.

Even though this man was obviously my father, I couldn't bring myself to hug back, nor did I like the feeling of him touching me. My friends must have sensed my discomfort, and had the sense to realize that the pups couldn't reach to pull him off, because before my father could hug me for long his hands were being pried off, by Kaiden and Trey. I was pushed behind them against my own wishes and they stood guard in front of me.

"What right do you think you have to touch her!" Trey said lowly. My grandfather had stepped back slightly knowing he couldn't get too worked up, and letting the people he knew he could trust with the situation take front. Joey, Kaylen, and Fiona soon stood with Kaiden and Trey. With Willow standing next to me, holding my hand.

"Please, can I just explain. I just want a chance. Please!" the man pleaded with them.

I couldn't sit silent anymore, I didn't want my friends fighting this battle for me. "What could you possibly say!" I yelled as I made my way in front of everyone. "Huh! What?! How you left my mother before I was born. How you turned her into the person she is, a thief, an addict, a psychopath!?" I breathed heavily.

"And why now, of all days it had to be now? My 18th birthday, quite literally the most important day in my life." Camilla and Cameron were at my side defending my every step.

"You had 18 years to explain, right now is not going to be that time. I don't care if you have nowhere to go right now, I don't care. This day is not going to be ruined by an explanation I needed years ago."

'Calm down Emilia. Please, it's scaring everybody.' Adriana tried to reason with me.

I wanted, deep down, to let him explain, but I knew I couldn't handle hearing what excuse would spout out. "Goodbye."

-End of Flashback-

My appetite had been ruined after that, I had been a crying mess, and I couldn't get a lick of sleep. Despite saying I didn't want that day to be ruined, it was, I wish I had spent the rest of the night with my friends and family. But, what's done is done, I can't change it now. The first time I came out of my room yesterday was to run all of my frustration out. From 7 till almost midnight I ran, with only the floodlights of the upper city to guide my way.
