There was only one thing I could think to do. Run.

So I ran. I ran as far as I could as fast as I could. I wasn't aware of the pups behind me, but I knew they were there.

Once I found myself in a densely wooded area, I knew I was far enough away that I wouldn't be found soon. My body practically fell on the ground as I tried to forget the words I had just heard. I can't stand the games even existing, it's a cruel and unnecessary way to prove power. People die in these games, ranging anywhere from modern martial arts, to mental games and physical trials. There have even been medieval swordplay games. Even worse than that, it's only 8 months away.

I was getting too nervous, too worked up. My vision was getting darker and my body shivering uncontrollablly. Another panic attack, you'd think with all these medical advancements over the years would fix or at least have better treatment for something such as a panic attack.

I reached for my leather backpack, only to touch the rough bark of the tree behind me. Just when my hyperventilating started I felt a paw scratching at my leg. Cami had the strap of my bag in her mouth and had dragged it to me. I remember now, I had set it down next to my seat when I sat in Ms Shale's office. I guess I forgot to grab it when we left in such a hurry.

While my thoughts plagued me, my hands searched through the bag, looking for the prescription I have to keep on me at all times. The small gadget worked very similarly to an Epipen, it didn't take too long for the system they used for the Epinephrine to become popular to administer for other medication. Though the appearance has also been upgraded since the first it was used, now it is just a seamlessly smooth, white, and oblong contraption with a gray button at the end.

I placed it against my leg and pressed the gray button, they've also figured a way for it to be painless, not even a pinch from the needle. The medication takes a few minutes to kick in, so I could do nothing but close my eyes, lay back and wait.

It was only then that I could hear the yelling from the back of my head.

'Dammit woman, talk to me! I know you can hear me, it's not like we haven't talked before.' Addie was saying to me. Well yelling at me.

'I'm sorry Addie, I can't really hear my own thoughts very well when I'm like this. I promise I'm not ignoring you.' I managed to somehow communicate to her, though I'm sure she knew already.

'Yes, I knew. I just want to make sure you're okay?'

'I'm pretty sure you can answer that for yourself too.'

I could just barely feel the medication taking affect, and managed to look over to see both Camilla and Cameron standing guard for me. They're both so loyal, I don't know what I would do without them. Even though they'd only been with me for three days, I don't know what I would do.

Camilla must have heard my thoughts, because she turned around and looked at me with such a fierce love. I didn't even need her to tell me that she would always be here for me.

I also knew that my grandparents would be getting a call about me running out of the school building, if they hadn't already. Lord knows what my friends are thinking. Just to make sure they didn't freak and call me a few hundred times I sent a text in our group chat telling them I ditched.

I seem to be doing that a lot nowadays. Probably not anymore if I have to go to that prep school. Kill me now, I can barely handle Cynthia! Wait, I won't have to deal with that bitch. I had an internal moment of pure joy.

'So you're just going to give in and go? What happened to all this talk about not wanting to go?'

"I'm just making a pros and cons list. I have to face the fact that I probably am going to go. It's not like I can out-rightly refuse the government." I decided to say out loud, just to fill the silence.
