Turns out the 'private transport' let out from  the back of the main staircase in the school. I was thankful we weren't facing the larger of the crowd, but there were still a few people there whose heads turned at our entrance. Their eyes widened a fraction before hesitating, and finally moving on to their previous task.

I could feel my stomach churning again and had to force myself to move out of the transport. Asher took notice and decided to wrap a comforting arm around me, it was much appreciated.

'Em you're doing great, go ahead and think about something else. Get your mind into school and I'm sure the nerves will go away.'

I bobbed my head as response to my sister's advice and looked up at Asher. "I'm going to need more help finding my classes, do you mind helping me today?"

"Course not, you didn't even need to ask, government is on our way to your first class. So just meet me there and I'll help as much as possible today. You're lucky we have some classes together or this would be more difficult."

I knew his last sentence was a joke, but a moment of panic set in, thinking I was a huge burden for him to take care of. He must have seen my moment doubt and turned to face me, his voice was more serious and much gentler though. "Hey, I'm sorry, I was just kidding. You're not a burden and I am more than willing to help. Not just now, but whenever you need it. Okay?"

I smiled a little, and finally noticed that Mr. Reiner had been waiting for us to notice him. Coughing a little, I inclined my head in greeting, trying to ignore the arm still wrapped around me, offering comfort.

"I'm aware that it's a little late to question, but in case you're not aware, this school has a uniform."

I was about to respond with the truth, how not all of it had arrived so I didn't have a complete uniform. But, then I remembered that I wanted to get something out of being forced to do all of this. I just hoped my ability to make a stand would work.

" Well, I got the uniform, by the way, really not a fan, and thought, 'Why do I have to wear this when it doesn't really matter what I do'? Whatever happens this semester, I'm not going to finish high school, I figured might as well wear what I want since I don't get to choose anything else."

I saw the gears in his head turning, looking for a rebuttal. The calling favorites wouldn't work since it's clear we already are favorites. Asher and I are getting a free education at the best school in the state, but are being forced to partake in something neither of us want to be apart of. We are clearly favorites, so might as well use it to our advantage, even if it's just a small freedom. I want it. Besides it's not like they can kick us to the curb, I mean I wouldn't mind if they did me, but they couldn't for Asher.

Reiner gave up on finding an excuse and finished with, "We will talk about this later." He spoke stiffly, but almost seemed like he was proud?

That was what I found most strange about the conversation. There wasn't even a doubt that Asher had either a huge smirk or a dumb smile on his face. So it wasn't a huge surprise when I looked at him to see a pearly smile.

"That was awesome! How did I not think of that before? Oh my God do you think I could get to wear normal clothes too?" He was shaking me as he spoke, and I laughed with him.

"I don't know. Maybe? I'm sure we'll get to hear about the consequences of my actions later today."

At least in my head, that was something like how my rebuttle went. Unfortunately severe anxiety at what everyone who could potentially hear that would do, kept it silent.

'You're not wrong. I understand why you can't say it now Emilia, but that's what we're going to work on on our own. You need a voice, especially now.' Adrianna decided on the spot, can't say I'm looking forward to that lesson.
