The Unknown Potter [COMPLETE]

Chapter Five

          Hermione shook me awake the next morning. I was tired, and I needed more sleep. I sulked out of bed while Hermione was screaming at me to hurry up. I pulled on my robes and rushed out to the Common Room. Harry and Ron were waiting for me and Hermione.

          We all walked to breakfast together. I saw Hermione and Ron lingering, talking with hands in each other's grasps. I smiled and walked with Harry, until he glared at me, his eyes begging me to go away.

           Once we had made it to the Great Hall for breakfast, McGonagall had started handing out schedules. Ron got his first, and moaned when he saw it.

           "Ugh." Ron moaned. "History of Magic, Double Potions, Divinitation, and Double DADA. Binns, Snape, Trelawney, and that Umbridge woman all in one day! I wish Fred and George would hurry with those Skiving Snackboxes already!"

            "Do my ears deceive me?" asked Fred. He started on a rant about his products, and how a Prefect was trying to skive lessons. I wasn't listening, but instead staring sadly into space. George was the only one who noticed, because he walked over while Fred was on his rant. He sat down on the table next to me.

           "Gwen? Are you okay?" George asked. I snapped out of my zoning and looked up at George, who was a head taller than me when we were both standing.

           "Uhh, yeah. I'm fine. Just thinking..." My voice trailed off and I began to zone again. George frowned and rejoined his brother, who was going to sell Extendable Ears to some kids before Herbology. George smiled at me as he walked out of the hall, which Ginny unfortunately saw.

           "What was that all about Gwen?" asked Ginny.

           "Nothing," I responded.

          "That looked like more than nothing," she shot back.

           "Chill out Ginny, it was nothing. George just asked me if I was okay."

         "Okay," Ginny said suspiciously. I helped myself to the gravy and biscuits sitting in front of me.

           I had no idea what Ginny was getting worked up about. She over exaggerates things way too often. I shrugged it off, finished my breakfast, and made my way to my first class, History of Magic, wishing for nothing more than to be taking a nap.
