I stood frozen as the snake stared me down. It's cold, black eyes screamed hunger. But it wasn't hungry for food. It wanted me dead.

"Kill me," I whispered in the snake's language. "I dare you." I had forgotten that Professor McGonagall and Hermione were standing behind me.

"Oh, it would be my...." the snake paused, and I heard faint bits of Parsletougne drifting from up the stairs. I just couldn't make them out. The snake appeared to smile as the words from below stopped.

"Master would love to meet you again.... Gwenyth. Bring your friends with you. They will be in for a treat."

I hesitated as the snake started downstairs. I knew my parents were most likely dead down there, and I didn't want to find out. But I was not in the position to be making demands.

I motioned to Hermione and the Professor to follow me. They both looked at me like I was insane, but they had no choice as I started down.

The basement didn't have the warm, welcoming feel it usually did. It was cold and unforgiving. I could hear my mum moaning, and my dad crying. Hermione heard this too, and she almost burst into tears. I motioned her to be quiet, and I followed the snake to Voldemort.

"The visitors are here," the snake said to her master. Voldemort, with his full body, turned towards me. I saw my parents behind him, nearly dead. I tried to keep a straight face. I couldn't show any emotion to this monster.

"Well, it is very nice to see you again Gwenyth," Voldemort said in his stupidly high voice, completely ignoring Hermione and Professor McGonagall. "I hope you don't mind me paying a little visit to your parents dear. They seem awfully nice."

I snarled at the bastard. The way he called me "dear" every time he saw me. If I wasn't so busy hating him, I would have been creeped out. He laughed like the evil maniac he was, and pointed his wand towards me.

"Come, come. I wanted you to have a front row seat as I slowly kill your parents. Hermione, come sit by your sister. You should see this too."

Hermione hesitated, but stood right next to me. McGonagall realized her opportunity, and played along with Voldemort's antics, silently casting a patronus to get help.

"Now, I hope you brought popcorn, because this is going to be quite the show." He pointed his wand towards my mother. "Crucio."

My mother withered and screamed on the floor, the curse doing great damage to her. Voldemort, laughing, released the curse and did the same thing to my father.

I jumped up, my wand in my hand, and ran to Voldemort. He must have noticed me coming, because before I could cast the curse on my tougne, he yelled out a curse at me.

            "CRUCIO!"

I collapsed to the ground, the pain becoming too much. I could barely hear my own screams. I heard Voldemort cast the curse again, so I tried to keep my mind off the pain.

"George," I whispered. "Hermione, Harry, Ron, Ginny, Emily." I heard the spell cast again, and I heard my own screams increase. I could hear Hermione screaming along with me, and McGonagall pleading to stop.

I tried reciting something I said to my mother and father before I left for school the first time. "For those who fill me with cheer, I hope this is something you will never hear," I whispered between screams. I struggled to get the words out as time went on, the pain becoming the only thing I could focus on.

"I will miss you with all my heart, but just pretend that we are not apart." I altered the last lines, because I was not sure if I would survive. "I may be gone, that is true, but just know no one means more to me than you."

As I spoke those final words, the world around me darkened, my screams being the last thing I heard.
