I studied the staircase and the soldier that stood in front of the gap with the lip on the other side, which I presume has a space inside the large pillar. That was to my left but to my right the only thing I could see from my angle was another doorway that led to outside from the sunlight pouring into the dim lit building. Farther down the stairs was another blue door that only opened for the soldiers, so I knew I could not get caught.
I finally decided to try and creep by the soldier and get inside the pillar. Walking up the stairs to the right. Toward the opening in the pillar. I almost reached the top when the soldier arose and came after me with open arms. Not in the good way. I didn't turn back and run away, no, I ran right for him. Before it had me in it's grasp I dodged out of it's way and knocked it over. As it got back up I was already in the pillar where there were blue symbols on the floor in the stone. To the left was a lever so I went over and pulled it down.
I peeked my head out of the doorway, opposite that of the soldier and saw that I would have to get past it once again to get to a door on the left side. The gate blocking entry or exit rose up but the soldier was too focused on me to be bothered. I sprinted to the doorway and jumped out of the pillar toward the soldier, landing on top of it and knocking us both down. Luckily, I was the one who got up first and ran up the stairs toward the door.
As I got closer Trico's roar kept getting louder and louder I thought he was just calling for me until I got to the top of the stairs and looked around the corner and saw three soldiers looking down at him and they had spears in piles behind. I knew that his roar was an aggressive. I hurried past them and at the other side of the balcony was yet another door. I had to go down the stairs to the right and there was another blue door and another huge pillar with as opening. There was luckily no soldier and the that was previously chasing me had given up and joined the others in attacking Trico. I jumped into the pillar and pulled the lever inside raising a gate on the opposite of the other one I came in just a second ago.
I went out the way I came in and ran toward the door. On my way up was another soldier in the resting position but got up when I got to close. It got a hold on me and started to carry me to the blue door. I yelled for Trico and squirmed out of it's grasp and ran toward the door. When I got back outside I had to go to the right and there was a dip in the path but had solid ground if I missed the jump and fell in the gap. But I didn't miss the gap and I ran to the end of the path and there were wooden beams that were held together with metal connectors.
I started walking across the beams and at the second connector a beam broke and fell into the what seems to be a bottomless pit. I regained my balance and kept walking while two more beams broke and fell. The last beam was broken so less than half was still attached. I had to jump across the gap and grab onto the metal bar that wrapped around many wooden planks that would lead to the drawbridge that was staying up vertically.
I walked as fast as I could on the narrow wood and jumped over to the other side. My right hand grabbed it and I lifted my left hand to grasp the bar also but, the metal went crooked and made the wood start to break. The bent metal had me now hanging sideways and putting me even lower than before.
"Trico!!" I yelled at the top of my lungs with fright in my voice. I turned my head as much as I could without disrupting my grip on the bar and saw Trico turn on the pillar to face me. He outstretched his wings and shifted his balance and squawked, prepping to jump over to me. He took off from the pillar and landed with his forelegs on the top of the bridge and his hind legs hanging off below him and he kept trying to climb up but the bridge was raised to much for him to be able to climb up.
I knew what I had to do. I let go of the bar and fell onto Trico's back and started to climb. When I got on top of his head I jumped down onto solid ground and to my right was a ladder and a lever next to it. I hurried over to it and pulled it lowering the bridge to let Trico onto solid ground. The momentum of the bridge falling into place almost made Trico lose his grip and fall but, luckily he stayed on. He sat on the bridge and looked at me with his large adorable eyes. I walked ahead some more, Trico followed, to the right was a small section that went into the wall and rounded back out. Trico sat in the middle and licked at his wounds where the spears pierced his flesh.
I climbed onto his back and pulled out three spears, earning three whimpers as the spears were removed. I gently stroked the sore areas, as Trico lie down and yawn, then he fell asleep with me snuggle into his feathers.
