When I awoke a soft warm presence curled around me. It seemed to be awake because of the little movements and the noises it was making. I looked up at the face of the warm presence and it was Trico looking back at me.
He seemed to have moved us out of the building we fought in. We were now on a round platform just outside of the building. I stood up and looking around, Trico followed my actions.
I climbed on his back and pointed up to three other outcrops in other structures. On top of the third one I could see through the opening and it was clear for Trico to jump into. In front of us a gate that Trico could push through so he did and I followed.
We were in a cavern place with wooden planks laid out like tracks. To the left was a giant dirt pile blocking that way. To the right was a double door with bars in the gap. When I got closer to the doors I looked down over the bars on the other side I could just see that a metal prong on each door had a plank stopping the doors from opening. To the left was another pathway that was unblocked so I went through the path and on the other side was a dead end to my left, right, and in front of me. I heard Trico behind me and when I turned around he was right behind me. He picked me up onto his nose and when I was on his nose I saw there was a way over the right wall.
I jumped off his nose onto some wooden beams that led me to the side behind the door that was blocked. So after running to the door I unblocking it and I saw Trico's backside sticking out while the nicer half was still in the tunnel.
"Trico really?" I said giggling. He backed out of the tunnel and looked at me after shaking dirt off of himself. I went through the double doors and when I got past the place where I jumped down and after that there was just a dark tunnel with a hazy light at the end. A shuffling noise came from behind me and when I turned around I saw Trico squeezing through the tunnel. Since he could crawl through I kept moving forward.
I got to a point in the tunnel there there was a few metal prongs hanging in the ceiling and a few more steps forward was a winch. I waited for Trico to catch up and when he got his head past the prongs the prongs dropped onto his neck and he stopped dead in his tracks. He stayed in the same place and squirmed and whimpered. My instincts were kicking in so I ran to the winch. Once I grabbed the handle I pulled as hard as I could to raise the gate but it wouldn't budge.
I let go in frustration and ran over to Trico, which was a mistake because as soon as I got to him the ceiling caved in on us.

When I awoke it was dark and I was next to Trico's nose. He was breathing heavily. I managed to get to my feet and I crawled through a tiny hole through the rubble which led to a place where light came in though the roof. I was now against Trico's stomach and so I made my way up and once at the top there were rocks on top of him. When he inhaled and exhaled the rocks moved with him. To the left was a makeshift staircase that I climbed and I was clear of the cave-in.
I ran toward the light on the other side of the tunnel. Before I reached the end the not-so-distant sound of shifting metal came from both side of the light. I backed away slowly until I saw four soldiers coming after me, then I broke into a sprint back toward Trico who was still buried in the rubble. Once I reached the wall I looked behind me and saw the soldiers reaching for their spears.
Then from behind me the rocks started to shake and a few little roars echoed in the rubble. Then a furious Trico emerged from the cave-in, sending rocks and dust flying. His eyes glowing red and he roared in anger. He then jumped down from his perch above and ran to the soldiers. Knocking two down and one of those two was destroyed. Two more he knocked out with ease and finally the last one holding a spear threw it at him but just barely missed, then was killed.
Trico let out a victorious roar and he came back to me and sat down. His feathers were all messed up and some patches of blood here and there. I walked past him and looked over the edge and saw what seemed to be dream. The Nest.
