We stared out into the distance as the last standing platform fell into the abyss. Trico whimpered behind me. I turned to see him looking down at the ground, many people may just think he had a permanent look on his face but, I saw something else. Sadness.
I walked up to him and he looked at me with sad eyes. I put my hand up to him and he put his nose in my hand and he went limp in my presence.
"We were so close," I said looking at him. "But don't worry bud, I promise I will get you to that tower if it's the last thing I do."
He opened his eyes and looked at me for a long time then he got up, turned around, and headed up the stairs in the pillar. I went after him, sprinting. When I got close to the top of the stairs I saw that Trico had stopped. Thinking he was waiting for me I kept running, but when I got to the top there was a flat part that led to a straight drop-off.
I walked up to him out of breath and looked out in front of us. There was a long path with crumbling, old, arches and most of them were no longer connected, from old age. I looked straight down....which probably wasn't the best idea since it seems bottomless soooo I backed away and clung to Tricos leg. I then climbed onto his back and hung on tight because as soon I was on his back he took off and jumped across.
After landing he looked left, nothing, and then to the right and he turned back to the left and started walking. I was very confused. There was nothing this way everything was to the right. There was an overhang that he could easily jump to that from what I could see led around the corner and there were two more jumps.
When Trico got to the end of the way he turned around and his back hunched and he wiggled. I was about to say something but before I could he took off like a flash of lightning, straight to the overhang. At the end he jumped and his wings extended. He glided for a moment before crashing into the building that was supporting the overhang. Luckily this time though, he was able to pull himself up and stabilize himself. I climbed down and walked forward a little dazed but able to walk.
The overhang veered left and around the corner was a high platform so I got on Trico who was staring at the tower. He snapped out of his trace and jumped onto the platform and onto the next one that was higher up than this one. There were no more platforms any directions but there was a doorway to the left and so we went through but only one step for Trico because it went straight down.
The place below us had tall but skinny pillars scattered around and there was a way to the right down there too. Trico jumped down and as soon as he landed three soldiers rose and came after him. With barely any difficulty Trico took down all the soldiers. When I hopped down and looked back up at Trico I noticed that his horns looked to be a full length and his wings looked properly folded, unlike when I first met him and they were no more than stubs.
I watched Trico as we approached the doorway to the right and when I looked ahead my stomach dropped. We were back where we fought Evil Trico. Trico stepped forward cautiously and stayed behind him. We got to the end of the left side of the bridge. The right part was still damaged from the battle in the past. The soldiers were still gone also.
Trico looked up and the sky was turning the place a pinkish-purple. I looked up at the sky too and saw that the top of the place was a dome shape and there was a large hole that Evil Trico had jumped down from in the past. So I got back on Trico and he cleared the huge leap to the top. On the roof it was absolutely stunning. Four pillars lined up in front of us with a larger one at the end which from where I was, have other pillars continuing on.
