Chapter 20

There we stood. Staring at The Nest. Our goal from the beginning, right in front of us. Now, all we need to do is get over there. There were three pillars that led downwards to a very long boardwalk that led to the the entrance. After I pointed to the pillars,boardwalk, and The Nest out to Trico I climbed onto his back and he jumped from pillar to pillar. On the last pillar Trico hesitated a little before jumping onto the boardwalk. 

"C'mon Trico," I told him. He then jumped down onto the boardwalk and as soon as all four feet hit the wood it snapped and started to crumble. Trico got his balance back and he took of in a full sprint down the boardwalk to the point in the wood where it veered to the left. When we got really close to the corner Trico stiffened his legs and tried to stop himself from slipping off the edge. Luckily, we stayed on the boardwalk and even better, the wood stopped crumbling a few feet behind us. 

I got off Trico to take a breather but before I could Trico who looked to speed walk toward the tower with his head held high made a b-line to The Nest. I had to run after him because he was moving so fast. He stopped a while away from The Nest for a couple of reasons that I realized after I caught up to him. There was a pretty big gap between us and the rest of the path to the tower. Also, On the other side of the gap was an eye on rails on each side. When I looked up at Trico his eyes were glowing in fear, he was also growling and still staring at the tower. 

I looked down into the gap and there was a way underneath that I could go through to reach the tower and get back to Trico. (I will do some time skips because its basically all running and jumping at this point...I'll get to the exciting part ;P)

Running around the back of the tower guided by the sounds of Trico's growls, I finally saw my companion staring at the tower. I ran down the stairs of the tower and onto the other part of the boardwalk, opposite of Trico. I reached the eyes and I decided to push the right one off first since it was closer. Once I pushed it off Trico started roaring angrily and not even a second later my vision was clouded with symbols and I felt weak. Turning slowly towards The Nest, there were thousands of soldiers pouring out of one big door and two other small ones, and they were coming this way. 

The ones in front had eye shields and the ones in the back had spears and since there was still another eye close to Trico he can't move. I slowly made my way to the middle of the boardwalk to stay close to Trico. The soldiers with the shields stopped a few steps away from me and one soldier with nothing in it's hands came forward and grabbed me. It started carrying me away, but I gathered up the energy I had left and put up a fight while calling for help. 

Trico roared angrily before he took his left foot and swiped at the soldiers. That caused the wood to break and many soldiers, including the one with me in it's grasp started to fall down into the abyss. Trico saw me falling and just barely caught me in  his mouth and after he had me, he took one more swipe at the soldiers which hit more wood and made his other foot slip and he let go of me and I went flying. Trico brought himself back up and I landed onto his back. 

"Trico! We need to go!" I shouted desperately as all of the boardwalk was falling apart along with all of the soldiers on it. Trico took one final glance at the tower then he turned around and sprinted. He were moving really fast down the wooden bridge as it all fell behind us. We were coming up on the end of the boardwalk which was the corner from earlier. It seemed to be shaking and unstable. Trico tried to stop once again but this time it wasn't enough. We went off the edge.

His wings opened.

We took flight. 

Not for long though his wings were still not fully operational. We crashed into an upcoming pillar. The rusty metal gate was closed and it was up to me to open it. I need to move fast.

Hey guys!!! Cliff hanger!! I know I'm mean. But I know you guys love me ;)  Anyway I have decided to go with the original ending that I had first thought about and that is...lol like I'm gonna say what the ending is. Geez. lol jk. BUT THIS IS OF THE UP MOST IMPORTANCE THAT YOU READ THIS!!!!!  There will NOT I repeat NOT be a sequel to this book. I am very sorry if you wanted a sequel to this book. I know many of you probably wanted this to be a series but not with this plot or of this book. I don't know what I will be working on after this book is over I will of course let you know when I decide. But as always, feel free to give me suggestions to what you would like me to write and I will take it into consideration!! I love you guys so much and I would love to hear your thoughts!! Not in the creepy way but good way!! Anywho thanks yall!! Later guys!!!
