They had us surrounded on the tower and they all had a spear or a sword in  hand. Trico's wings fluttered as they did when he was angry and ready to fight. He was also growling and  jumping up and down towards the soldiers then he would jump back. I had me shield in hand then I jumped off Trico and ran to the right getting out of the way leading one soldier away so that Trico could destroy it with lightning. I got far enough away then I shone the light on the soldier and it stopped dead in it's tracks a few feet away from me and it went back to it's resting position. The metal skirt part of the armor made a circle on the ground around it like a pedestal.

Trico ran over to the soldier and just before he ran into it he skidded to a stop sending bits of dust, armor, and rocks into the air. He stood up straight and took his right foot and swiped at the soldier sending it on one piece over the edge of the tower in a cartwheel motion then it disappeared into the fog below. A soldier behind Trico came up to his hind leg and slashed him with its's sword causing a whimper to escape Trico as he hunkered down a bit to the pain. Luckily, it slashed his bare tough skin which was strengthened from jumping all this time on the rough stone.

Trico whipped around and he reared up and stomped six soldiers at once. There were five left that he easily took out but down below us where the staircase we flew to the two doors opened and a soldier with an eye shield came out of each door. A door beside me also opened up and three soldiers came out which took me by surprise and one of the soldiers captured me and started to take me to the door.

"Trico! Help!" I yelled and when I got a glimpse of Trico he was being attacked from all sides and unable to do anything because of the shield. It was up to me to set myself free and save my companion. I wriggled, kicked and punched the soldier and finally was able to get free and I ran over to Trico. I targeted the soldier with the shield and ran into it causing the shield to shatter on the ground and Trico roared and jumped up into the air and came back down with a mighty force that shook the whole place and made every soldier drop and scatter. We did it!

I looked up at Trico who was breathing heavily, eyes still glowing. I turned around to see a barrel next to the staircase so I went over and grabbed it. When I brought it over and Trico saw it his eyes went from angry to hungry. I threw the barrel in the air towards him and he caught it midair and chewed three times and then he swallowed. Pieces of wood from the barrel fell from his mouth and he looked down at me. I smiled and he leaned his head down and I thought he wanted me to pet him but he picked me up by the scruff of my shirt and he flung me into the air backwards and I landed on his back of soft feathers.

Trico turned around and started walking around the tower until we got to a silver and clean looking gate with a small plinth with a shallow hole in it. I got off of him and examined the plinth, it seemed to be a holder for the mirror. So, I took out my mirror and placed it in the circle but kept a hold on it. The gate started to rise so I took the mirror off of it but the gate fell back down with a crash. It looked like I had to keep the mirror on it until the gate was fully open. So I did and when it finished rising I took it off again and this time the gate stayed up.

I went inside before Trico and the first thing I noticed that it got very cold. The floor seemed to be almost ice and there was frost floating above the ground and when I exhaled I could see my breath. Trico came inside and I could see his breath too. Farther into the tower were two staircases leading off to the left and right. I went to the right because its the right way, right? For some reason Trico went to the left, but I trusted him.
