Ay ay squad! WE'RE BACK ON THE STORY! Who's still here? I am and so the story sure is. Let's continue!! Also, this chapter is dedicated to my over-the-top crazy friend, who keeps me crazy...bwhahaha.
I take in an anxious breath and try to keep my posture calm.
"And what should I say?" I ask him, fixing my glasses. He looks up and raises an eyebrow at me.
"Now I have to teach you how to speak?" I hear Mike stifle a giggle but try not to react.
"I mean why am I calling her?" I can hear my pulse rising by the second.
"Because I am asking you to! Come on, stop wasting my time." He shakes his head in annoyance and looks back at his laptop.
"But why are you asking me to?" I raise my voice a bit. He looks directly in my eye at the same time as Mike's pen falls from his hand, down on the floor.
"Because I can!" Why is this stupid man not getting what I want to ask?
"Sir, I think she means what is she supposed to inform Miss Ally about." Mike interrupts and I thank heavens for that!
Who's the boss again?
"You need to really learn how to frame sentences, Miss Anne." Nathan speaks bluntly and starts going through the files set on his desk. I stand in silence, silently appreciating the way he has his bottom lip between his teeth.
"I can't really find the file, just tell her that.." He suddenly stops. I can very clearly see the pain flash through his eyes. Maybe I'm just being fooled.
Again.
"There are very high chances she won't answer but if she does, transfer the call to me." He busies himself with the laptop again.
Maybe I should do that. I'll sit outside, call myself and then transfer the call.
Where's all the I never want to hear his voice mission gone?
Well its not like I want to talk to him in that sense. Maybe he just has some information.
Really? Like what? Hey! Wanted to remind you that you've sold the company to me?
"Need something else?" He asks, not taking his eyes off the screen.
"No." I whisper and turn around to leave the cabin. Being in the same room as him just doesn't let me think straight.
I sit down on the chair and start contemplating on whether or not I should do it.
Of course not! It could end bad. Very bad. I mean what if someone sees me? What if he comes out while talking on the phone?! No no no, its risky. Just too risky.
But then what if he really has something important to tell me?
But what could me important now? NOW? When there's nothing left to discuss about?
Alright, maybe I should transfer the call, walk into the washroom and then talk to him.
Oh wait, I have that SIM card back at the hotel. Great! No more confusion, I call myself and tell him that the call isn't going.
Wonderful!
I dial my number and as expected, the call doesn't go through. I jump up and head straight towards his cabin again.
"She didn't answer, did she?" He asks as soon as I enter, without looking at me.
"Um, no. Actually-"
