Sorry for the super delay. But waiting gives the sweetest fruit, this chapter proves it! ;)
Six months later :
I smile as I pick up the fresh bouquet of flowers left at the door. There's a small note hanging below and my lips automatically tilt upwards as I read it -
I love you.
-Nathan
Only three words, being the three he's said to me countless number of times and yet each time, my heart reacts the same way its reacting now. I walk back inside the house and shut the door behind me. Placing the bouquet on the center table, I look around and smile to myself. As I walk over to the curtains and draw them open, the sunshine warms my face. Nathan will be back today from his business tour. The last week was painful, it drove me mad to return to a place void Nathan after a tormenting day at work. I've missed the back massages he gives me and the fights we have every night on who was the last to get in bed (because whoever it is, has to check that the doors are locked), but mostly I've missed him in the kitchen. When he'd be cooking dinner while I'd lounge around. For one whole week, I've survived on pathetic take-outs. How do people eat that every day?
As my eyes fall on the huge Victorian clock hanging on the wall that mum and dad had gifted us at our housewarming party, my mind immediately goes six months back. When Nathan was almost about to leave, three hours after Angelina had left, he remembered he'd forgotten his wallet and before I could get it for him, he rushed inside and opened the drawer to get it. But instead of the wallet, he found the letter and insisted on reading it. I can still clearly remember the tears shining in his eyes and how he'd literally cried on my shoulder only seconds after. The letter was all it was needed for him to decide that he'd not leave without me joining him. And two weeks later, all the arrangements were done for shifting the headquarters of Ricosta Corp. to NYC. Dad agreed on it straight away mostly because he's still guilty about what the way he behaved with me and so now he agrees to everything I propose without a question, but also because he wants me to be with Nathan and now that the company had the choice of shifting, everyone thought it was the perfect timing.
"Why don't you shift to London?" I remember asking Nathan one night.
"Honestly? Its just really grey." I giggle at the memory and make my way to the kitchen for a nice cup of tea.
When we first moved into this house, everyone assumed we're planning our secret wedding and each day the editorials would mention some nonsense about where we are flying off for our wedding when it would simply be for business. My skin jumps when the memory of Nathan proposing me flashes in my mind. He'd made over-the-top arrangements and took me to dinner on a roof top restaurant where he booked all the tables so we'd get privacy and proposed me in the fanciest way possible. It took everything in me to turn him down. I just wasn't ready at the time, moving here was already too much and I needed time to adjust to all of this, to be sure about everything. About the fact that I can be indecisive and not regret it. Thankfully, he understood me and we laughed about how it was the most epic fail in the history of failed proposals. But now that more than six months have flown by in the most ridiculously Ferrari speed, my mind's having thoughts about it.
Wait.
Nathan will be back today, so how about I do it?

Nathan's POV :
The pilot's voice cracks through the speakers, announcing about the landing and Mike stands up to get back to his seat beside me. We'd been discussing about the meeting we have two days later. I fasten my seat belt and look out the window. Finally I'll be seeing Ally. Oh if only she knew how every night I had trouble sleeping because I could not feel her little figure against my chest, the way she does it every night. Just the thought that I'd be able to breathe in the scent of her neck and the fluff of her hair makes every little cell in my body dance in excitement.
