Luke in the picture above. Dedicated to another one of my lovely readers for her continuous love and feedback.
We are in the car for the past ten minutes. All Nathan does is keep saying that he misses me and sobs into the steering. It breaks me apart to see him this way, to know that he needs me and to know that I still cannot do anything.
Yet.
But then why would he cheat me like that? What made him do that? I know its only because his love for expansion overpowered his love for me. And now he wants me back.
Like hell I'll do it.
Where were you when I needed you? Where was your love when you did that to me? Did you not love me then, when you forged the signatures or made me do it, whatever it really is. I cannot give in, not so soon. He has to learn the consequences of what he's done. Its not a thing to let go, its about holding on, knowing what made him do it and why he'd still not say what he really wanted behind doing it.
Oh wait, what if that is what he's been meaning to tell me all the while? What if that is why he's been trying to reach to me nonstop. Maybe I should talk to him and this is the best time. He's drunk, he wouldn't be able to point out minor details.
Yes, I think this will work. Well at least I hope it will.
"Sir," I shake his arms which are rested on the steering with around his head. He doesn't move.
"Sir." I shake him again. This time he voices a deep rumble.
"Sir I think you must go inside." I say lowly as he raises his head up from the wheel. He knits his brows together and looks at me with narrowed eyes.
"Ally?" He says my name in a whisper. Had this been any other night, my heart would have betrayed me with the loud chatter but not tonight.
"Sir!" I shake his arm again, knowing that he did that because of the extra dosage of alcohol.
"Oh, yes. Will you come with me, inside?" He asks again, the smell of his irresistible cologne making it impossible for me to refuse. But I know better.
"No. I don't think that's really what you want, sir. I think you need some rest." I answer fighting back my tears. To know and to witness in person what the lack of me in his life has done to a strong person like him is causing me physical pain.
"You don't know what I want. You don't." He shakes his head violently as his bloodshot eyes dig deeper in mine.
"Let me help you." I offer and get down from the car, going over to his side. I open the door of the posh car and bend down to help him get out.
"Sir, let's go." I mutter and put an arm around his broad shoulders. The mere contact of our bodies makes me want to give up all of my mission and tell him who I am.
"Come." Exhibiting a bit more pressure, I finally succeed in getting him down from the car. He stumbles as he gets down, his weight almost making me fall to the ground. These stilettos are seriously not helping. I shut the door behind him and with a lot of more effort I get him to enter his house.
Once in a room which I guess could be his, I help him to lay down on the bed and under the duvets. He stares at me all the time and it makes a shiver run down my spine.
"Stay here, with me." He whispers as I look into his eyes.
Nathan is like the sunset. Breathtakingly beautiful but equally upsetting. Knowing that he'll leave but still lingering around him to enjoy the last moment until he's finally gone.
