"Sir, I'm sorry. But this girl here insisted on meeting you. For a job." The lady explains as I stare at him with my tongue tied. He looks quite pissed off and doesn't even once bother to look at me.

"Whatever. Send her away, Mrs. Pecans. And Gloria, what the hell are you doing on this floor again? I told you, you are not allowed to step up on here. No matter what." He really is pissed off, isn't he? Maybe he was doing something very much important and our noises disturbed him. I can imagine how irritated he must be right now. But wait, did he just order to send me away?

"Get back to work everybody." He dismisses us with a depreciative wave and starts to get back into his cabin.

"Wait!" I call out and he instantly pauses. As if he's just heard a ghost moaning, he looks at all of us with a shocked face.

"Who just said that?" He asks with raised eyebrows and I swallow a big lump of nervousness forming at the back of my throat. With shaky hands, I slide back my glasses in position and take a step forward, with shaky legs as well. Finally his eyes settle on me and I can't help but start feeling anxious.

"Me." I say in a much lower voice this time.

"Oh!" He says, letting out a breath. What seems like anxiety is written across his face as well. He wipes away the perspiration becoming evident on his forehead with his handkerchief and then smirks while shaking his head as if he's enjoying an inside joke. Proceeding to place the handkerchief back in his pocket, he looks back at me. Then as if it strikes him, he opens his mouth to say something but then shuts it again. Its like he's judging me. Oh no, has he recognized me? Does he already know who I am? Please don't tell me this game is over even before it could start. I look at the ground to avoid eye contact with him and nervously reposition my glasses. I can feel him start his walk towards me and with every step he takes, my heartbeat gets faster.

"Off to work, all of you." He orders the others, not stopping his walk towards me. I keep looking at the ground. No, please don't tell me he knows who I am. I fumble with the file of papers in my hand.

He stops when he's only one step away from me. That doesn't stop the familiar scent of cologne from reaching me and I close my eyes for a brief second to boost myself.

No Ally, you are not going to get all jelly right now.

"You, follow me." He instructs and I look up to check whether he did really say that to me. When my eyes meet the familiar brown ones, my heart skips a beat and I feel a cold drop of sweat run down my spine. A small smile is playing at the corner of his lips as he turns around to lead.

What next? I follow his trail like a lost puppy.

As I as I enter the cabin, I take in a deep breath. God! This entire room smells like his cologne! That's so motivating. I'm going to fight for this job even more now!

I know, that was lame.

He walks straight to the huge spinning chair behind the table and swiftly settles into it while I just stand nervously at the corner. How funny is it that only minutes ago I had to fake nervousness and as soon as this man comes around, nervousness becomes my second nature.

"Mike, check up on the HR department, please. Bring me all of the reports they have for this month." He orders to a man, I didn't notice was seated at the other end of the room.

"Um, I'm not sure I heard that right, sir. Do you want me to go the HR department?" Mike asks in confirmation with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes, that's exactly what I want, buddy! Now, go!" Nathan answers in his usual pissed off voice, with a sharp gesture to know that he wants the man to leave. Right this freaking second.
