To be honest, I was still a bit creeped out by the airport incident when we arrived at our new house.
That guy, well, he just appeared. He was there when I bumped into him and gone when I moved.
I couldn't of imagined it. Luke saw it, too.
Our new house was not big, but it wasn't small. It was an average size, with three bedrooms on and two bathrooms the top floor, and a kitchen, dining room, sitting room, and bathroom on the bottom floor. There was also a basement.
Mom got the biggest bedroom, Luke got the smallest, and I got the one in the middle. I went downstairs to help move boxes.
Like I said, we didn't have many bags. I had two, Luke had two, and Mom had three. There was also the moving truck that consisted of the furniture.
A boy with brown hair came out of the house next door and started walking over to us. "Hey," He said to me. "I was wondering if I could help your family move in. I'm Jacob Portman." Uh, sure," I said. "Mom! Luke! The neighbor's gonna help us move in, so if you see a guy in our house, it's just Jacob!"
"Hi, Jacob!" Luke called, waving. Jacob waved back. I grabbed one of my bags and handed him the other.
"So," I said as we walked inside. "Do you go to the high school here? Have any friends in the neighborhood?" Jacob nodded. "Yeah. I have friends, but they don't live here." I put my hand on his shoulder sympathetically. "Yeah. We move a lot, so I get that. Luke, my cousin, has been with us for years. He's kind of my permanent best friend." Jacob smiled. "I don't have any siblings. What are your friends named?"
"Well, my best friend's name is Lisa. And there was this cute guy named Reid. What are your friend's names?"
"Well, my girlfriend is Emma. Then, there're my friends Millard, Horace, Bronwyn, Hugh, Fiona, Olive, Claire, and Enoch."
I was taken by surprise. "Hugh? Fiona? I saw them at the airport."
Jacob's head snapped up. "What? The airport?" I nodded. "Yeah. The airport."
"The airport."
"Dude, are you deaf?"
Jacob set my bag down and sprinted off, pausing only for a second to shout, "Thanks!" over his shoulder.

. . . .

I tossed and turned in my bed. It was 12:46 at night and I couldn't sleep.
The pieces were a bit strange. Luke and I just so happened to sit by Fiona on the plane and she just so happened to be our neighbor's friend.
Then there was Invisible Naked Guy, who had been there one second and vanished the next. He wasn't there long enough for me to catch the details of his face (his face was the only thing I looked at, I swear), but I did remember his eyes. They were a startling dark blue, like the color of the sky when the sun had just finished setting.
I finally fell asleep.

. . . .

The next morning, I woke up late. We had school today. Luke and I were both in sophomores in high school. I showered, brushed my teeth, and got dressed in skinny jeans and a purple v-neck. I ran downstairs, grabbed a protein bar for breakfast and pulled my Converse on. Luke was sitting on the couch, waiting for me. "Hey, Vee," He said. "Wake up late?" "No, Luke," I said sarcastically. "I purposely came down late so I could have barely anything for breakfast." Luke grinned. "I had bacon," He said. I stood up and slapped him playfully. "I love bacon! How could you eat it without me?" I said, laughing.
He smiled. "Mom! We're leaving!" I hollered.
No reply.
Luke and I left for our first day of school in an entirely new place.
Again.
