Luke

I awoke in a bed. Bright lights burned my eyes.
There was absolutely nothing but the bed in the room.
The walls were white. The carpet was white. I looked down. I was in a white shirt and white sweatpants. The room smelled like cleaning supplies.
I stood up. The carpet was soft between my toes. I heard footsteps in the hall, threw myself on the bed, and shut my eyes.
A young woman walked into the room holding a bundle of clothes.
"Lukas," she said. "I know you're awake. You are a horrible actor."
I sat up. "Where's Bronwyn?" I asked.
"It doesn't matter," she replied. She had brown hair that was held back in a braid.
"It does matter," I snapped. A horrible thought crossed my mind. "You didn't touch Vienna, did you?"
"Sadly, no. Reena wasn't smart enough to tell the Hollow to get that little sucker as well," she replied.
"Don't talk that way about her."
"She's not your cousin, you know."
"I know that very well."
"How are you feeling?" The woman asked me.
"Fine," I said hesitantly. "Who are you?"
"My name is Jenni. I'm not telling you anything else," she said.
I glared at her. I'd get it out of her somehow.
"Now that your feeling fine, I'll give you a moment to change," Jenni said, setting the clothing on the bed. "You have five minutes."
She left.
I changed into the black shirt and jeans she left for me. I slid on the socks and white tennis shoes.
A couple minutes later, Jenni came back. "Come with me, Lukas," she said. I followed her out of the room, looking for an exit. My plan was to find Bronwyn and then a way out.
I just had to go along with what these people told me until I could locate her.
The hallways were empty and dark.
Jenni led me into a large room with two chairs in it. There was another door as well. "Sit, Lukas," She said.
I sat.
"As you may or may not know, you are the son of our former, now dead, leader, Caul. We want you to lead us now that he had passed," Jenni explained, sitting in the other chair. The chairs were plain and metal.
"Never," I said.
"Not even after you see this? Bring them in, boys."
Two men brought in two girls. One of them was Bronwyn. She was didn't show any sign of fear and met my eyes.
Don't do anything they want you to and don't believe anything they tell you, she mouthed.
The other girl had pink hair that I had loved and blue eyes I had stared into a thousand times.
It was my ex girlfriend, Andrea Garrow.
There was a scar next to her eye. Her bottom lip was trembling. "Luke," she cried. "Luke, baby, please help me, I'm scared. I don't know what's going on."
The guard yanked her hair. "Quiet," He growled. "Don't touch her!" I yelled. Andrea used me, but I couldn't let them treat her like that.
"I believe that this is your ex girlfriend, Andrea Garrow, and your friend, Bronwyn Bruntley," Jenni said. "Lead us, Lukas. Lead us and no harm will come to these girls."
"Don't do it, Luke!" Bronwyn shouted. Her guard slapped her across the face.
"Leave Bronwyn alone!" I shouted. "Give me a moment with them, please. And- and I'll consider it."
Jenni frowned. "Fine. Just remember that there are cameras everywhere except for the bathroom. We have speakers in there." The guards dropped the girls and followed Jenni out of the room. I rushed over to Bronwyn.
"Are you okay? Why didn't you use your strength to get out of that guy's grip?" I asked.
She stood up and gave me a hug. "I'm fine, Luke. I'm glad you're okay. They said if I tried anything, they'd hunt the others down and attack them," she said.
"I should've used my peculiarity. I should've used my lightning," I said, running a hand through my hair. I touched Bronwyn's cheek where it was red from the slap.
Andrea shoved Bronwyn out of the way. She hugged me, but I pulled away instantly.
"What's going on, Luke, baby?" She asked. "I'm scared. What's a peculiarity?"
"Don't call me baby," I said, ignoring her question. "How did you get here?"
"They took me from the airport, darling," She replied, touching my lips.
"I am not your boyfriend anymore, Andrea. You have no right to call me those names or touch me like that," I said.
She nodded. "I'm sorry. What I did was wrong."
Bronwyn cleared her throat. "We need a plan," she said.
"We can't talk about it here," I said. "Cameras."
She nodded.
"What's your name?" Andrea asked her.
"Bronwyn."
Andrea laughed out loud. "Your parents didn't like you, did they?"
"Don't speak to her that way," I snapped, grabbing Bronwyn's hand. I was disgusted by the fact that I had ever loved Andrea.
"Luke, baby, I was wrong about David. He was drunk. I was drunk. We were wrong, love. I need you," Andrea said.
"Why were you drinking at my house that night?" I cried, furious. "You're underage!"
"Bet you Vienna had some."
"No, she didn't." I turned to Bronwyn. "Do you think they're okay?"
"The others? I hope so," She said. "Bird only knows where they are know. If Horace had a dream about any of this, he didn't tell us."
"Who's Horace?" Andrea asked. "Is he hot?"
Jenni came back in the room. "Time's up. We were watching the entire time. You're going to be third wheeling soon, Andrea," she said, giggling.
Bronwyn fished something out of her pocket, hugged me one more time and slid something into my back pocket.
Then, the guards took them away.
Jenni smiled at me. "Let's go back to your room, shall we, Lukas? I'll give you until tomorrow to consider our offer."
She took me back and locked me inside.
I bet there were cameras in here, too.
I stuck my hand in my back pocket. I felt something metallic. I wasn't sure what it was.
There are cameras everywhere except for the bathrooms.
I headed into my bathroom and pulled out the object.
It was an old flip phone.
Bronwyn must've stolen it from her guard.
The battery was half dead, so I wouldn't have it for long.
I flipped it open and dialed Vienna's number.
I hoped nobody here could speak German.
