Chapter 33- Worried

Shane's POV

Two days later I was crying on the plane and in the taxi to the hospital. I finally calmed myself down to surprise visit Joey.

I doubt he's awake but I will be here for him.

Lisa talks to the nurse who lets us visit him. She was very nice. I'm glad she's taking care of Joey.

We stand outside his door. I take another breath. I don't wanna burst into tears.

Brittany's POV

I've been in the hospital for two days. I didn't even need to turn in that stupid homework. I sit in between Joey's bed and his sister.

My mom let me stay here and Joey's mom is working. Suddenly the door opens. I look up expecting to see a nurse but instead I see Shane and Lisa.

Brittany: Shane!

I run over and hug him. He hugs me tightly. I can't believe he's here. He has to be the best boyfriend ever even if he isn't mine.

Shane's POV

When I released Brittany, Joey's sister Nicole ran over to me.

Nicole: I still fangirl a little every time I see you. I can't believe you're here! And dating my baby brother. Not fair by the way.

Shane: Maybe on day you'll be my sister in law.

I wink. The thought of marrying Joey cheers me up a little bit.

Nicole: Can I go to all of your concerts?

Shane: Sure.

Nicole: Yay!

She hugged me really tight. Then she sat back down. I walked over to the bed where my sleeping boyfriend was.

I lean down and kiss his forehead. Then I sit on the edge of his bed and hold his hand. I feel tears coming.

I begin to silently cry. I'm so scared that he won't wake up or that he won't be ok although the nurse says he's fine.

Brittany walks over and hugs me. I know she feels exactly how I feel right now.

Brittany: He'll be ok. We both know he will. And when he wakes up he smile when he sees you.

Shane: I know. I'm just scared. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before. I don't want my boyfriend getting hurt just because he's dating me.

Brittany: Don't worry. I promise to protect him for you when you're not around.

Shane: Thank you Brittany. I'm glad you're Joey's friend and mine too.

She sits back down. I looked at Joey. I wanted him to wake up so badly. I push his hair around.

Who would hurt him? Was it a fan? Or could it have been Luke? Those are the only people who would've hurt him.

Maybe Joey knows who hurt him. If he does I will make sure they pay. No one hurts my Joey and gets away with it.

I kiss him one last time and whisper.

Shane: I love you Joey.

I take a seat in the chair next to his bed. I hope he wakes up soon. If not I might go crazy.
