Chapter 36- Don't Go!

Shane's POV

I looked at the clock. I should wake up Joey now but he looks so peaceful when he sleeps. I lean down and place a kiss on his lips.

Joey: Mmm... Shane?

Shane: Time for school.

He shot right up. He was wide awake and facing me.

Joey: What?! No! You have to leave tonight! I don't want you to leave!

Shane: I'm sorry baby.

I saw tears roll down his cheeks. I quickly hugged him and rubbed his back..

Shane: Shh. Shh. Don't cry.

Joey: I don't want you to go! I hate seeing you leave! It's absolute torture! I lie when I say I'm fine! Shane it kills me to see you go! Even if it's for a few weeks! Please don't go... Please Shane...

I felt so bad for him. I was shocked too. I wasn't expecting this.

Of course I knew it was hard on him when I left. It was for me too. But I didn't think it was this hard.

He continued crying onto my shoulder. I rubbed his back. He didn't calm down after 5 minutes.

Shane: Joey please calm down. You're scaring me.

Joey: I-I just don't want you to go Shane.

Shane: I know. I'll think of something I promise.

Joey: I can't this long distance relationship much longer. I miss you too much all of the time. I get all sad and depressed. I'm not trying to act clingy but I need you Shane.

Shane: I know. I understand. I promise I will try to think of something to make this easier for us. But you still gotta go to school.

Joey: No!

Shane: Babe. You have to. I promise to pick you up right away and we will hang out all evening.

Joey: Fine...

I have him a quick kiss and wiped away the tears that lingered on his face. Poor Joey... I have no idea what to do.

We get into the car and pick up Brittany. It's silent when she gets in and she doesn't say a word either.

I give Joey a kiss and tell him how much I love him before he gets out.

He gives me a sad smile and walks away with Brittany. I lean my forehead against the steering wheel.

What the hell can I do?

Joey's POV

It was the end of the day. Brittany and I were at our lockers. Everyone had already left or so I thought.

Some bully walked up to me an slammed me into the lockers. I winced.

I saw Brittany run off. So much for a friend!

Suddenly he punched me in the face. I placed a hand on the spot he hit me. It stung. He hit me a few more times.

Joey: Stop it!

X: Make me!

Shane's POV

I was waiting in my car for a few minutes. Then Brittany ran up to car out of breath.

Brittany: Someone's beating up Joey! Help him!

I quickly ran after Brittany as she showed me where Joey was.

Joey: Stop it!

X: Make me!

Shane: Hey! Leave him alone!

They both looked over at me. The boy who was hurting my boyfriend walked over to me.

X: Who are you?

Shane: His boyfriend. And if you don't leave right now, I'll kick your ass.

X: I'd love to see a f*g like you try.

I shoved him hard. He fell backwards not expecting me to do that. He got up and brushed himself off. He ran over to me and attempted to punch me.

Luckily I had experience with bullies. I dodged him and pushed him against a wall.

Shane: Listen. Back off my boyfriend or else I will kill you and anyone else who dares to touch him.

I released him and walked over to Joey. It wasn't much of a fight but I hope that it gets my message through.

No one can get away with hurting my Joey. And I will find out who stabbed him too.
