Marian woke up the next morning feeling lightheaded. The rays of the sun strikes on her face to her nose line. She squints her eyes before getting off from the bed. Her gazed move at the edge of the bed and found the mattress is still untouched.

She heaves a sigh. "Hindi siya natulog dito? Maybe he fell asleep in the study room." She told herself and get her phone. The time was already seven in the morning and she forgot that she had to meet with Rina at around nine. Marian hurriedly step into her slippers, took her quick shower and dress up.

"Hi Mommy good morning." She gave her mother in law a kiss on her cheek when she approach the kitchen.

"Morning din hija! Your going somewhere?" She asked her when she noticed that she's well dressed.

"Ah! Yes Mom, I'm going to meet Rina about the party. Wala pa kasi kaming mahanap na magandang venue. And were running out of time." She retorted.

"Ah! Okay. Take your breakfast muna, join me here." She pointed her to seat on the chairs across her.

"Thanks Mom. How about the Twins?"

"Naku! I request Dolores to check kung gising na. Pero tulog na tulog pa ang mga yun. " She muttered.

"Ah! Maybe they got into bed late na."

"Haynaku sinabi mo pa. Ako na nga lang sumuko sa kwentuhan nila kagabi. Hindi naman halatang miss na miss na nila ang isa't isa." She shook her head with a smile on her face.

Marian smiled at her too as she listen to her mother in law's rants. She will just laugh or shrugged to at her from time to time, the topic shifted lightly.
She get her mug, excuse for a while and made her own coffee in the counter area. She transfer the brewed coffee to her cup from the coffee maker and approached Nay Dolores silently. "Nay! Si Gabriel po?" She asked.

"Naku! Maagang umalis anak." She replied.

"'Ah! Okay po. Did he..ughhh...never mind" She caught her words off when she look back to the dining table.

"Hindi ba kayo nag usap?" She frowned.

She shook her head, then sighed.

"We talked last night but..I mean I tried" She shift her eyes to her mother in law again. "Parang mas lalo lang lumala. Ganoon ba talaga siya pagdating sa kanya Nay? (Referring to his mom)."

"Hayaan mo na, siguro kailangan lang nila ng time para makapag isip isip. Hindi ko rin yan maintindihan si Gabriel, pero hindi ko siya pinapakialaman sa mga desisyon niya."

"Hayyy! Siguro nga po. They both need time. Anyway, Anong oras si Gabriel umalis Nay? Kumain ba siya?"

"Naku! Alas kwatro pa lang umalis na yung batang yun. Nagkape lang siya kaya ito nga gumagawa ako ng agahan niya at ihahatid ko to mamaya sa kanya."

"Natulog ba siya?"

"Yun nga eh! Mukhang hindi." The old woman heaved a deep sigh.

"Kahit naman po Kailan matigas ang ulo niyan eh. Bahama siya sa buhay niya." She muttered, shook her head leaving the old woman alone.

Marian came back to the dining and started to eat her breakfast. She munch her food quietly, her eyes onto her mom gradually as if she's studying her gestures. "Mom!" She broke the silence.

"Yes?"

"Did Gab talk to you? I mean, nag apologise man lang ba siya sayo?" She asked her.

"Why would he? Knowing him hindi niya gagawin yun."
