Chapter 10

Marian was silent the entire trip until they reached Cassandra's condo unit. Gabriel walked in advance inside their supposed to be room for that night. While he was busy on some stuffs on their room, Marian was also busy with her phone and was just finished her conversation from the other line.
He came out and passed by in her front. Their eyes met.

"Si Carmina tumawag."

"Anong sabi?"

"Nagtanong kung uuwi ba tayo."

"I just talked to Cassandra na were staying here. May bagyo daw kaya wag na muna tayo umuwi until further notice."

"Kaya nga eh." She shrugged. "Wala naman tayong magagawa kundi magtiis dito and just wait."

Gabriel nodded at her. " BTW, Ready na yung room, you can take your shower now so you wouldn't feel cold."

He nodded at him in response too, was about to take her steps heading the bedroom.

"Hmmm Gab!" She figured out. Okay na ba yung faucet ng bathroom dito sa labas?" She asked.

"Hindi ko pa siya naayos eh. Maybe tomorrow na lang." He replied.

Marian stared at him.

"You can use the shower first. Basang basa ka ng ulan kanina eh. Mahirap na kung magkasakit ka pa diba. So! Go and take your shower now." She told him.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah! Sige na mauna kana."

"Thank you."

Marian played her cup of black coffee while looking as her ringing phone, she heaved a sigh. She's hesitant to answer the call since it appears in her caller ID "Mike's" name. It was the fifth attempt when she decided to picked it up on the sixth ring. He pressed the green button and held the phone close to her ear.

"Finally Marie! (His pet name for her) you answered it. I've been trying to reach you out since morning. "

"I'm sorry I've been busy. Hindi ko napansin." She replied.

"Busy for what? For your sh*t husband?"

"Of course for the birthday preparation of my children. And please Mike watch your mouth." She muttered.

"Why are mad Honey? I'm telling the truth about him. Don't you like it.?"

She sigh. "Pwede ba wag na natin siya pag usapan. Why did you call?" She retorted.

"Because I miss you already. Don't you miss me Hon?" He pouted his lips like a little kid.

"Syempre I miss you too Mike. Pero alam mo naman what I'm up here diba?"

"Yeah! I know. I'm just too excited" He smiled in the other line. "I can't wait to marry you my Marie." He mumbled.

Marian heaved a heavy sigh, her eyes locked on the door wherein Gabriel was inside. She scoffed on the other line and then a seconds of silence.

Marian didn't respond.

"Hon are you still there?" He asked swiftly when he noticed that she's been quite for sometime on the other line.

"Aheeem! Ahem!" She fake a cough. "Yeah! But I have to go na Mike. The manager is already here, I'll text you soon. Bye." Marian said this as her alibi, she doesn't like the idea of talking to him especially when he opened up regarding this topic. She doesn't know why in a sudden her plan change. She doesn't know why it annoys her much when Mike said bad things about Gab. When, before she comes home, she always talk bad things about her husband, how she hated him and even cursed him.
