Jonathan's POV
I hate going to school when holidays are near. People can be so dramatic, and it's even worse now because tomorrow's Valentine's Day. Don't get me wrong I love holidays but people at this school can be really extra, and annoying.
This morning walking from the school parking on my way to class I saw this guy perform an entire skit and dance with his friends to ask his girlfriend to some military ball for ROTC. It was cute. Then I saw some girl running down the hall because her boyfriend broke up with her right before Valentine's Days. I just shook my head, because I can't make this shit up.
Now I'm sitting in my creative writing class, watching some forbidden love story and everyone super focused on it eating desserts, reading their candy grams.
I just shake my head ready to go. Then my classmate Shawn takes a seat next to me and asked why I haven't read any of my candy grams. And I push them onto his desk he moved and connected to mine.

You can have them... I stated smiling.
But you haven't even read them, you don't know who they're from, he said. But damn you do have a lot. He added with a disappointed look.
Watching his eyebrows furrow when he said that last bit I picked a candy gram up and opened it to read.
Candy 🍭 Gram (1/6)
"Jonathan you stay playing hard to get like you to good for a nigga, meanwhile I'm trying to be your 'manz'." -Nick
After reading it to Shawn we both bust out laughing.
Nick is trying to be your 'manz' he said with air quotes. Smiling he takes the note and analyzes it. I wonder what Nick this is he said.
I shrug and eat a jolly rancher that was in the bag.
Read the next one he requested.
I roll my eyes and look at him. Why don't we ready yours?
He nodded and gave me his. I didn't get one from the person I wanted it most from. But I guess I got one.
Shawn you got more then one. You got more then me... hahaha. Bitches love you huh?
It's because I'm on the football team. If I wasn't playing I wouldn't get any.
Whatever, I'm not going to stroke your ego..
After I say that his left eyebrow raised and I push him out of my bubble. You play, don't be cute. Haha.
