Kevin's POV
I head over to our room and immediately pull out the first, large suitcase that I saw. It didn't matter how old is was. Right now was no time to be picky.
Right now, all we have to take with us are the most essential of our belongings.
If it were up to me, I'd leave Celia in Eva's arms. I just didn't see the point in taking the child with us. It would only cause trouble.
But I also know Mary more than anyone else in the world. And if Celia didn't come, there was no way in hell she would.
So there are definetely some sacrifices that I have to make if I want this to go my way.
It pisses the hell out of me because it means she's taking control at the moment.
But only now. Only at this moment. Because if she comes with me, then that means I have power over her again. And that's important. That's very important.
After a few moments, Mary comes in the room, one hand holding an ice pack to her face and the other holding a second ice pack to her waist.
Wow, she really got beaten up.
The mere thought made me angry.
How did James ever even DARE to touch something that was mine?! He tried to take control over someone that's been in my clutches every since senior year. That rat bastard was gonna pay. Oh, was he gonna pay a fine price.
I'm gonna kill him. I'm gonna fucking evicerate him. He's going to suffer.
Without saying anything, Mary comes over and helps me put a few of our belongings into the bag.
"Mary.", my voice is grave,"Where is he? You didn't let him follow you did you?"
"No.", she whispers and I cup her cheek in my hand so that she looks at me before she can continue,"I ran here as fast as I can. No one...was following me."
"How are you so sure?", I narrow my eyes.
Surprisingly enough, she laughs,"You know those brass knuckles you bought me a long while back?"
I nod.
The small smile is still plastered onto her face,"Well, they finally came to good use...he was writhing on the ground by the time I got away."
As soon as I heard her say this, I felt such eagerness that I picked her up despite the bruises covering her body and twirled her around in a circle.
She's so much more like me than I thought. And that just motivates me to keep her around a for a little bit longer. She's a keeper, that's for sure.
"Ow, Kevin!", she shrieks,"Oh my god, that hurts. Put me down. Please."
I set her on her feet, but keep my hands right on her waist; refusing to remove them for the time being,"Wow, I'm so proud of you babe! Who knew you could actually turn dark when you needed to. It makes me almost believe that you're not innocent."
"What?", she snaps,"What are you talking about? I'm not innocent!'
"You keep telling yourself that, princess.", I add the 'princess' just to spite her,"But you're not an idiot. You know I'm telling the truth."
"Oh, shut it, Kevin.", she's narrows her eyes,"I'm not having this argument with you right now!"
She's getting very annoyed and although that compels me to keep backing up my argument, I need her help so I force myself to stop. There'll be plenty of time for talking later.
