Sanctuary

The pair were sat in Barry's apartment, cuddled up together, as usual, Caitlin leaning against Barry, head on his shoulder. Their arms were wrapped around one another, trying to close as much of the empty space between them as possible. It was relatively early morning, around 10 o'clock, the couple sat watching a movie together, which had just ended.

"That was great,"

"Yeah, it was," Barry replied smiling.

"Well, what do you want to do today?" Caitlin asked out of curiosity.

"I don't mind, as long as I am with you," he replied with a smile, causing Caitlin to blush, shuffling slightly closer to him.

"Well, I heard that there is a place not far from here, a sanctuary for loads of animals, puppies, kittens, etcetera. It may be a nice cute place to visit for the day," she said, a smile appearing on her face as she did so.

"Sounds great," Barry replied, before continuing. "However, this first," he said as he leant in and kissed her. They remained lip-locked for a few minutes, wrapping their arms tighter around on another, Barry placing on hand on Caitlin's face, cupping her cheek. They remained in this position for a while, embracing the moment, Caitlin moving her legs up and over to wrap them around Barry's waist before things slowly accelerated turning the scene from a passionate kiss into a make-out session, the two blushing intensely as this went on, butterflies going off within their stomachs.

A few moments later they pulled away, smiling and then leaning their foreheads against one another, looking into the other's eyes for a while, seeing the present glow in the eyes. They were both smiling, enjoying this moment and not wanting it to end.

"I love you," Caitlin whispered, the smile still dominating her face.

"I love you too," Barry replied, the same going for him.

It was now around half an hour later, the couple having had changed out of their pyjamas and now ready to go out. They were wearing fairly casual clothing, however, in Barry's perspective, Caitlin still managed to look as beautiful as ever. They gathered up their things and stood at the door, looking towards one another.

"Ready to go?" Barry asked.

"Yeah, I can't wait," Caitlin replied, as Barry unlocked the door and they started to descend down the many flights of stairs held out in front of them.

As they approached the bottom, fingers interlocked, the pair walked over into the apartment carpark, approaching Barry's car. He opened the door for Caitlin, letting her get in before he moved round to his side, getting in.

"So, where abouts is this place?" he asked.

"It's only a couple of miles away, near the eastern edge of the city, near the open field. It shouldn't be easy to miss,"

"Okay, I shall head that way, tell me if you see it," he smiled.

They started to drive through the city, Caitlin's hand clutching onto Barry's on the gearstick as they headed down the road.

"Oh, I think I see it," Caitlin said, around 10 minutes after they had left.

"Okay, I will park here and we can walk the rest, Barry replied, parking the car and getting out himself, walking around to Caitlin's side and opening the door for her.

"It's just down the road, just a few minutes walk from this car park,"

"Okay, let's get going then," Barry said, taking a hold of Cait's hand as they headed down the outskirt of the city.

It wasn't long until the pair reached the sanctuary, heading in and paying for the time that they were about to spend. After this, they headed out of the reception area and towards the entrance, with a map displayed on the different areas housing different animals.

"Where would you like to go first?"

"It is entirely up to you, Cait," Barry smiled.

"Okay, well... there is so much to choose from, kittens, puppies, bunnies.... how about bunnies
first?"

"Okay, let's go," Barry said, as the pair walked towards the bunnies, hands remaining interlocked.

It didn't take long for the pair to reach the bunnies, seeing them adorably hopping around their enclosure, some resting in a corner, others eating in another corner, the rest simply hopping about.

"Aww, they are so small!!" Caitlin exclaimed with a small squeal, clearly excited by this, causing Barry to smile himself.

"Do you want to hold one?" he asked, to the fairly predictable reply of an excited yes, so Barry opened the gate into the enclosure, the two of them walking inside.

Caitlin slowly headed over to a bunny sitting on its own near the centre of the area, nibbling on a piece of food it was holding in its tiny hands. As she approached, she slowly cupped it in her hands, wrapping her fingers around it and picking it up, cuddling the bunny, holding it up to her face and holding it on her cheek, softly rubbing her cheek against it.

"You look so adorable with it, I don't think I have ever seen you smile so much," he joked, smiling to himself, somewhat wishing that he was the one being held by her.

"The bunny isn't the only thing that I want to hug today," Caitlin said, sending Barry a small, cute wink, making him blush.

After a few more minutes, Caitlin eventually put the Bunny down, allowing it to hop off to a group of other bunnies. They left the enclosure, heading off towards the other animals.

Before long, Caitlin had now got a kitten curled up in her arms, allowing Barry to stroke it, his arms wrapped around Caitlin to reach it. She, like the bunny, held it up to her cheek, stroking it on the head as she leant against Barry, the kitten purring in her arms, making her smile. At this point, there were now a couple more kittens brushing themselves against the pairs legs, weaving in and out, them too, purring. Happily skipping along to the further enclosures, the couple now had puppies running up to them, licking their hands, panting heavily out of excitement as they playfully interacted with the pair, both Barry and Caitlin giving them belly rubs, and playful strokes on the head and back.

After the pair had arrived back in Barry's apartment, it didn't take them long to break out into yet another passionate kiss, just like the morning before. It was after they had had a fairly lasting conversation about the day out, all of the adorable fluffy animals which they had held, met etcetera. Caitlin had a glow on her face unlike before, as the pair broke into a small make-out session, as they fell down onto the bed, slowly removing layers of clothing as things got more intense...
