The couple were walking out of school, after a relatively dull day. They were both looking at each other smiling, after being separated for most of the day after becoming so used to being around one another at Barry's apartment, so naturally, they had missed each other greatly, despite it only being a few hours.
As they were approaching the road, Caitlin's phone started to ring, so she moved to the side of the path to take it, Barry stopping and waiting for her.
"Hello?"
"Oh hey mum,"
"Really? Oh okay," Caitlin said over the phone, Barry picking up that she sounded somewhat upset.
"Okay, bye mum," she finished, hanging up and putting the phone back in her pocket.
"Is everything okay?" Barry asked out of curiosity.
"Oh, yeah, my mum has told me that my apartment building had finished repairs and that I can go back now, so good news I guess," she replied, despite calling it good news she didn't sound particularly happy about it all.
"Are you sure? You don't seem too happy about it all," he mentioned.
She broke out into a small, cute nervous laughter, before speaking up:
"I guess it's just weird that I won't be with you anymore," she said quietly.
"You are still welcome, in fact, I'd love it too if you stayed for a while longer, that is if you can stand me for any more time," he smiled, placing a hand on her shoulder.
"Of course I can stand you, I love your company, and if it is okay with you I would love to do that," she replied, smiling.
"Okay then, it's settled, back to my place," he smiled, Caitlin smiling back, re-interlocking hands and heading across the road and back towards his apartment.
------------------------------------------
As they returned to his apartment, having climbed up the many flights of stairs, Barry fumbling with his keys and opening the door, Caitlin following him into the home she knew so well, sometimes even considered it her own. They both slipped off their shoes and headed over into the living room, throwing themselves onto the sofa after a long day at school.
"Would you like anything?" Barry asked, placing his hand on top of hers.
"Whatever you are having, thanks," she replied with a smile.
A few minutes later Barry returned to the room, with two cups of hot chocolate.
"I made it how you like it," he mentioned, sitting down next to Caitlin, both of them shuffling along the sofa until they were as close as possible to one another, both taking a sip from their drinks.
"You know, I actually really like it here, and your company is really nice, I know it may be a lot to ask but perhaps we could consider living together?" she said nervously, also letting out a slight blush as she thought about it.
"Cait, I'd love that, of course," Barry replied smiling, pulling Caitlin in for a hug.
"Okay, thank you, I guess that this is a new chapter in our lives, then," she smiled, resting her head on his shoulder.
"Yeah, it is," he smiled back.
The pair then spent the next hour or so doing as they always did, resting against one another, cuddled up as close as possible.
------------------------------------------
"I was just thinking about school, about how us being together is now slowly spreading around, do you think that will affect us? Our relationship I mean," Caitlin asked, now sounding slightly worried.
"Of course it won't, I don't care about how much trouble or rumours go around involving us, I'm the happiest that I have ever been with you and I don't think anything could ever change that," Barry said with a smile, putting an arm around Caitlin and pulling her in closer.
"Okay, thank you, also just thank you for everything you have done for me. I really don't think I'm worth everything that you have done for me, so thank you for everything Barry," she said, looking Barry in the eyes.
"You are worth it Cait, and to honest nothing that I have done is particularly great,"
"Yes it is, it really is. Just like you said about me, you have made me happier than anyone before you,"
They both broke out into a small blush, snuggling up closer. As if by some perfect chance, the main character of the movie that they were watching just experienced their first kiss together, and with the sun now setting the room was now fairly dark, creating a nice, pleasant atmosphere, only lit by a faint candle in the corner. It didn't take long for the couple to parallel what was happening in the movie, the only difference being that this wasn't their first kiss.
Their lips crashed together, Barry moving one of his hands to Caitlin's back, the other moving to gently cup her face, Caitlin placing both of her hands on Barry's back. The spent a few minutes passionately kissing, before things started to accelerate, both of them slowly moving their hands around the others backs, Caitlin moving her legs up and wrapping them around Barry's waist, Barry slowly pulling her in closer, their tongues meeting as they let the happiness take over their minds. They pulled away for a second, both of them blushing intensely and smiling beyond their control.
It didn't take long for them to start up again, clashing together as Barry slowly moved his hands down and stood up holding Caitlin, the pair still kissing as they walked over towards the bedroom, Barry sitting back on the bed with Caitlin happily perched on his lap as they kissed.
"I'm glad I asked to come back here," Caitlin joked before they continued kissing one another.
Before long, the pair had fallen backwards from sitting up, Caitlin on top of them, both yet to stop their lips from being interlocked. Caitlin started to fumble with the tie Barry was still wearing from school, before removing it, not long after unbuttoning his shirt as they pulled together as close as they could, sharing more kisses as they started to remove more layers of clothing, throwing the bedsheets over themselves, tangling up in the bed together as stars started to appear outside, enjoying themselves, just the two of them, not in need of anyone else, being happier than ever before.
