Caitlin woke up from her sleep, flickering her eyes open. She looked over to her right to see Barry peacefully sleeping, her hand still resting on his bare chest, her face buried in his shoulder. His arm was wrapped around her, embracing her in a hug, or at least as close to a hug as possible whilst laying down. Their clothes had been carelessly sprawled over the room just like last time, most notably her bra and t-shirt on a desk on the other side of the room. She wanted to stay there for as long as possible, however, she had a plan for the two of them today, and as they had slept in, the clock reading 11:00 AM, she slowly removed herself from the bed without disturbing him, sliding out whilst picking up some clothes off from the floor, being Barry's shirt and jeans, before walking over to the bathroom to take a quick shower.
As she emerged from the bathroom she met Barry in the hallway, who had just woken up and having just dragged himself out of bed, also having thrown on some clean clothes.
"Good morning," he moaned, wrapping his arms around her and hugging her.
"Morning," she smiled back, hugging him back.
They headed over to the living room, this time Caitlin making drinks for the two before they moved over to their natural position together, cuddled up on the sofa.
"This is nice," Barry said, resting his head on Caitlin's.
"So, are we doing anything today? Or spending all day cuddled up like this, because I'm perfectly happy either way," he smiled.
"I actually have something planned, however, it's a surprise," Caitlin smiled.
"Okay, sounds good," Barry said, finishing his drink.
The pair then turned on a movie, cuddling for the remainder of the morning.
------------------------------------------
The time was now around 7:00 PM and the pair were getting ready to leave, Barry still unknowing as to where they were going. As he came out of his bedroom, now properly dressed, he was waiting for Caitlin to come out of the bathroom. This didn't take too long, as she emerged wearing a beautiful black dress, looking as great as ever. Barry simply stood there amazed at her beauty, possibly blushing at the sight of her.
"You look... great," he muttered, smiling, walking over to her and taking hold of her hands.
"Thank you, you too," she smiled, her cheeks illuminating to a bright pink.
"So, are you going to tell me where we are going yet?" he asked, after kissing her on the cheek.
"Nope, you shall see when we get there," Caitlin said with a smirk, looking strangely adorable as she did so. They both exited the apartment, heading down the many flights of stairs that were always facing them whenever they had to leave or return to his apartment.
As they entered the street, Caitlin excitedly squeezed onto his hand as the fast-walked through the street.
"The place we are going to is fairly open spaced, so we have to go near the edge of the city, which should only take about 15 minutes," she smiled, seeming excited.
As they walked along, the sky had started to clear up, as well as the city seeming strangely quiet, creating a peaceful atmosphere for the two.
"Cait, why are you doing this for me? Am I really worth it? Not that I am not grateful, I really am, I'm just saying that you seem to have gone through a lot of trouble for me,"
"I haven't gone through too much trouble, plus you have done so much for me, I can assure you that you really are worth it, no matter what you think about yourself. You know, I see a really good person in you, even if you say otherwise," she said with a smile, looking up into Barry's eyes.
Barry blushed, before speaking up:
"Thank you," he said happily before Caitlin spoke up again.
"We are here," she said excitedly, leading him into a large building.
"Oh wow, Caitlin, I've always wanted to come here!! Thank you so much!" Barry said excitedly, squeezing Caitlin's hand.
They had arrived at an observatory, the biggest one in the city, somewhere Barry had always hoped to come to but never found the time to. As they entered, Caitlin handed in the tickets that she had purchased earlier that day.
"So, would you like to go outside, or look through some expeditions first?" Caitlin asked, sounding very excited at this point.
"How about we go outside if that is okay with you," he smiled, and Caitlin nodded her head, so they linked hands and headed outside, where a large field lay, the skies unbelievably clear, stars shining and the full moon a clear white, leaving a prominent glow in the sky.
"It's beautiful," Caitlin said, cuddling up to Barry, them both being sat in the field, Caitlin's head now lying on Barry's shoulder, him putting his arm around her.
"Yeah, it is," he said, smiling.
"Thank you for this," he continued, resting his head upon her's.
"It's no problem at all," she said smiling.
"You see that small 'smudge' up there," Barry said, pointing up at the sky, then continuing:
"That is the Andromeda galaxy, in old legends, it is said to symbolise everlasting love," he said smiling, pulling her in closer.
"Really? That's really nice, and romantic too," Caitlin said, looking Barry in the eyes, as they slowly closed the space between them, as their lips eventually crashed together, interlocking their lips together, hands around the other's back, before pulling away as they both then moved to lay down on the grass, iterating between gazing into one another's eyes and gazing at the stars.
They linked hands, staring up at the stars as they shuffled towards one another, cuddling up on the grass, slowly growing closer and closer to one another, as close as humanly possible.
"I know I have said it a lot, but this is really nice, thank you," Barry said, looking over at Caitlin.
"Yeah, it really is," she said with a smile, burying her face in his neck.
"I love you, Cait,"
"I love you too."
