Chapter 6 – Verrath’s Narrative
“I came from her as an illegitimate son.” Verrath started to say while Lucian still clutched his abdomen in pain. “A son that shouldn’t have existed in the first place” He added.
The leader of the Sentis walked around as he saw the damaged Yanmiege. It was present on his face that he was in fact disappointed that such a powerful weapon could be dismantled by mere children.
“Long ago, my mother fell in love with a human. Despite the fact the she had duties as the mediator and creator of this world we live in.” he said. “And as when two fall in love with one another there is always a desire to pass on things. This presented itself in the form of my other half.” He said.
“Y-yue?” Lucian said as he tried to get up but then he was met with a strong gravitational pull that sent him falling to the ground once again.
“Yes, Yue.” Verrath said. “She was the legitimate one, the real daughter of our Mother.” He added. “But I guess this needs no further explanation, for her powers alone already are a dead giveaway.” He added.
“Ugh…” the calm student said as he tried to retain his composure.
“Gaia had control of everything, the elements, the natural forces and even the grey energy which was abundant around us. But then, a curse struck her daughter.” Verrath said as he walked around.
“Curse?” Lucian asked him.
“Her daughter began to be afflicted with an irregular amount of grey spirit energy as an infant. The amount was enough to poison her and eventually kill her.” Verrath said. “As an act of love for her daughter, she did the unthinkable.” He added.
“Poison…” the calm student said as he repeated the word that stood out to him in Verrath’s narrative.
“She extracted the huge sum of grey energy inside her, by force.” Verrath said to him.
“What…happened next?” Lucian asked as he lay on the ground while he was struggling to get up.
“Her daughter became better than ever. Healed of the curse of the grey.” The leader of the Sentis said. “But little did she know that with that action, she had already given birth to another.” He said.
“And that’s you.” The calm student said to him.
“Yes it was me. I was born form the dullness of my mother’s and my sister’s soul.” He replied to him. “I was the one in danger instead of her as my existence though, continued to eat its self apart.” Verrath said to him.
The leader of the Sentis stopped in his tracks as he had a cold and eerie look on his face now.
“If one cannot control the null spirit energy, it will eat the user inside and out. Especially if the one using it was a regular human.” He said. “Grey energy is abundant in the entire realms yes, but it takes one skilled individual to manipulate them without consequences.” He added.
Verrath once more faced the downed Lucian.
“My body began to be unstable, so my kind mother did another unthinkable thing.” He said as he smiled in an evil manner.
“I have to get up…” Lucian thought to himself as he continued on struggling.
“She threw me in this realm she had made herself. This Oblivion realm was meant to keep me stable and “safe” for a long, long time.” He said. “In this realm as I grew up, I saw the stupidity and greed of all mankind. It is the time as well when I began to control my powers fully.” He added.
The leader of the Sentis once again walked around and looked at the damaged Yanmiege. He remembered his first goal when he had taken a sight of it.
“I wanted to do humanity a favor. I wanted to show them that their faults could end, that peace could be attained when I end it all. For me to that, I needed to be whole again.” He said. “I needed my other half’s powers.” He added.
Verrath took a look at a downed Lucian. He saw that he was still listening to his narrative.
“Fraus succeeded in finding her in Treyah and my plan had commenced. She disguised herself as a student there for a number of years until she and my other half had already met. I knew it would not be an easy task for Crowe’s son and Aizen’s protégé will be there.” He added.
“I thought you tried to end the world before as well?” Lucian blurted out at him.
“Yes I did. But at that time I was confident. I thought I could end it with my own powers that came from this realm. My original plan was to bring the world in here and induce an explosion of grey flares that would surround the world. We were many back then, the spirits of the Sentis.” He added. “But alas we were thwarted by Aizen and Crowe, both who are adept in the art of darkness.” He said. “We lost a lot and nine of us remained, from a huge number of 20 souls we became reduced to the Novemque Sentis.” He said once more.
Lucian continued to listen to him.
“I had to devise another plan and that was the mission that Fraus undertook.” He said. “It wasn’t easy finding my other half but in time we did.” He said.
Verrath stood still as he continued to explain things.
“You and Aizen’s protégé’s presence would bring a halt to our plans if we were found out so in order for us to sneak by, Fraus undertook the disguise of her former persona known as Elle and she would go on and win all of your trust.” He said. “The plan was to have succeeded back in the attack on the Herac Dome, but we were thwarted by expected forces of course.” Verrath said further.
“I know the story already from that point…” Lucian said as his darkness was starting to rage a little.
“You would continue to thwart us so it left us no choice but to kill you first, but so far that plan hasn’t worked out hasn’t it?” he said to him. “We are now reduced to three and severely outnumbered by all of you so it’s time that I finally finish you off first.” He said.
“Come…and try…” Lucian said as he was about to stand up but then again he was met with a huge blast of a grey spirit energy flare and once more he was sent falling to the ground.
“Silence!” Verrath shouted. “It’s because of all of you why the world needs to come to an end. Sins are abused and now in return, we sins will be the ones to deliver the redemption that everyone needs!” the master Sentis concluded as grey spirit energy had engulfed him fully.
He was prepared to strike down everyone that was in his way.
