Chapter 22 – The World’s Anodyne

The world outside now however had looked different once more. The skies had turned a darkened grey color and there was a huge concentration of grey energy that had culminated in the ruins of the Sanctum Dei Cronos.

Zaix had been busy repairing the airship while the others were still recovering. Lucian and Melfice saw the ends of the ruins and immediately a huge chasm void had appeared not too far from the elevated ground that their group had been standing and camping on.

“What the hell is that?!” Melfice shouted in surprise.

“He was right.” Lucian said as he saw the chasm from a distance. “Verrath was intent in destroying this world and his realm’s destruction has already been affecting the world that we live in.” he said.

The calm student then faced towards the azure haired girl. She was still devastated in the disappearance of Seiryu as she stared blankly into space. Fran was right beside her trying to console her but she couldn’t bear the pain of losing him again so she remained saddened and weak.

Tears began to roll down her cheeks once more as his disappearance really did affect her in a huge way.

“We just got reunited…” she thought.

Lucian then walked towards her as he sat beside her as well.

“He’s fighting.” He said to her. “He is going to keep fighting.” He added.

The calm student put a hand on her shoulder and the latter now faced him.

“What?” she asked him.

“He won’t let the world end.” Lucian said to her with a smile on his face. It was clear that he was still wounded but he was trying to be strong. “Come with me.” He said as Yue had followed him to where he was standing at earlier.

The azure haired girl fixed her eyes on the chasm filled with grey energy that had formed beneath them. She saw the objects around it such as the forests, animals and other things begin to be sucked in towards the chasm as she also saw that it began to grow in size.

“You see the chasm?” Lucian asked her.

“It’s only getting bigger.” She said with a sad tone in her voice. Seiryu had affected her so much.

“Look again.” The calm student said and she observed once more.

She saw that the chasm was having difficulty increasing in size and there was a faint appearance of darkness energy that seemed to stop it from getting bigger.

“Se-Seiryu…?” she asked out loud.

“That’s right.” Lucian said to her. “His darkness remains to be prevalent even now that he is inside the realm of Oblivion.” He said to her.

“That means…” Yue tried to continue.

“He’s still alive.” Melfice said as he smiled at the female beside her. “He’ll pull through. He always does.” He said

I’ll come back to you, I promise…

“Yeah…” the azure haired girl said softly as she looked at the chasm that began to consume the things around it. “You’d better…” she said out loud.

“The world had already begun to feel my power!” The armored Sentis leader said as he sent out flames towards the long haired student as the two once more fought in the void.
