Chapter 28 – Slumber
Seiryu took his hand off the pedestal now as he stepped down from the short flight of stairs that led to the pillar that Gaia had summoned. He had a smile on his face as he looked around the all white realm of hers.
She saw his face as it hinted a look of sadness. The long haired student let out a sigh as he seemed to wonder what he was going to do next.
“So now what?” Seiryu asked her as he looked around and saw the light energy around Gaia’s realm.
Gaia then walked beside him and she smiled. A huge containment pod had appeared beside him as she saw him wave her hands once more. The pod was shaped like a white rose and it was filled with what had looked like a liquid substance.
“What is this?” he asked her with a curious tone.
“A slumber pod.” Gaia said to him. “It’s a special contraption that restores your magic energy and your spirit energy levels.” She said to him.
Seiryu looked at it as he was skeptical at first. He examined it as he walked around it slowly. He then noticed that as he tried to summon his darkness he saw that his energy was indeed weakened due to the fights that he had been a part of.
“You want me to step inside this thing?” he asked her as he looked a bit skeptical.
“Yes.” She said. “It would be better for you to rest up first before I return you to the outside world.” She said to him. “I said earlier that it was going to take some time before I recover my power as well right?” she asked him.
Seiryu nodded at her in response.
“Well you can use that time to rest yourself as well.” Gaia said to him as she smiled at him afterwards.
“Exactly how long is this going to take?” he asked her as he stepped closer to the rose shaped pod in front of him.
“I’m not sure.” She replied to him. “I remember using one on another darkness wielder back in the woods near Treyah though, back when I was roaming the world. It took him a few months to recover. He reminds me of you.” She said to him once more.
“Someone like me huh?” Seiryu said to her “Come to think of it Master Aizen said she met Gaia indirectly. Maybe it was him?” he thought to himself as he stepped closer to the pod.
“I never got his name though.” Gaia said to him. “He was unconscious when I found him there.” She smiled as she said her statement. “So I was the one who put him in the pod manually. He sure was heavy.” She said as she concluded.
Seiryu then closed in on the rose shaped pod and immediately it opened right in front of him. Surprisingly the water inside stayed in place even though the container had been opened.
“So I just step in like that?” he asked as he put one foot inside the pod. He felt the water surge around his foot and immediately he felt a healing sensation in his entire body.
“Yes.” She said as she smiled at him.
Seiryu now entered the rose shaped pod fully and he felt himself float inside it freely as the water that had been inside it turned out to be water that was imbued with healing magic courtesy of the goddess of the planet. The entrance of the rose shaped pod began to close and the long haired student suddenly felt a calm peace in him. Without thought then he began to close his eyes and eventually he was just inside the rose shaped pod now floating inside the holy healing water and his wounds slowly began to heal one by one.
Gaia on the other hand walked on as she let out a calm look on her face. She saw the long haired student float inside the pod that she had allowed him to use.
“Yue is lucky to have such a valiant protector.” She said as she smiled. “My daughter’s magic is getting stronger as well” she said again. “It won’t be long now that she will be the one to succeed me.” She added as she walked on.
Gaia stopped as she opened a light void and saw the world around her once more. The world was recovering from the threat that Verrath had put in it and the grey spirit energy that were once rogue and aggressive, now returned to their calm nature. The sky had now cleared up and began to reveal a clear night sky with stars in it. The moon shone fully as Gaia watched it from her realm.
“Your fight is not over yet.” She said as she faced Seiryu, who was sleeping in the pod. “It’s only about to truly begin.” Gaia concluded as she closed the void that she had opened and went near her throne which was a huge elegant white colored one, like the ones made for kings and monarchs. She sat down on her throne and she held her spear on one hand and shield on the other.
“How far are you going to take your darkness to fight for what is truly right?” Gaia asked as she began to regain and recharge her powers once more

Seiryu POV
It was calm in here, no threats, no enemies, no nothing. I felt my body float inside the healing water that Gaia had presented before me. I still knew that I was inside the containment pod that she had used apparently to heal my master back then.
She was all that I could think about as I remained in here. I guess I desperately wanted to see her already. Yue, don’t worry I’ll be back soon. I’ll keep my promise to you.
So you do forgive me
That voice… It’s familiar. I heard that voice already I just couldn’t pin point who’s it was.
Silly, you already forgot about me?
No I haven’t. Elle, why are you still haunting my thoughts? I felt my lips smile as I said that. It was like just those times that I used to talk to her back on the rooftop or our Academy.
I guess your choice is clear now huh?
What are you talking about? I asked her this question because I wondered on what she had meant when she mentioned choice.
Your choice between Yue and I. It was clear that you chose her right? It’s okay I understand.
Elle‘s voice is playing mind games with me again as I floated inside this pod.
It’s okay, I chose him too. Turns out that we had others caring for us huh? Silly how the fates really play with our minds.
I couldn’t agree more with her statement. Yue started out to me as a girl that I really detested every time I went to class in the battle academy. Who would have thought that she would be the one that binds my feelings all together?
But that doesn’t change anything; I really trusted you and I meant it.
The same goes for me; I trusted you too and maybe I’ll trust you forever I guess. I heard myself say that to her and faintly I heard Elle giggle a little bit.
I guess I really did forgive you huh?
Yeah you did.
So how about you? Do you forgive me too? The reason I asked her that because I knew that I hurt her as well. I know I did.
I’ve forgiven you too. I can never keep a grudge you know.
I heard her giggle once more after that and eventually my body became lighter as I floated in the holy healing water.
Well, I guess I’ll be seeing you.
Yeah, goodbye too Elle. I felt a bit of sadness once more but not that much anymore. I knew that the fate that she chose was the one that made her happy and if that makes her happy then I’m happy as well.
Goodbye Seiryu, see you again. I’m glad I got to meet you.
The voices fell as I felt my consciousness fade. My mind began to relax and sooner than that I began to feel my entire being fading away inside this containment pod.
Little did I know that I was already falling in a deep sleep in the realm of Gaia.
