Episode 27 - Partial Reunion

Chapter 27 – Partial Reunion

The group of Treyah students stood their guard as a darkness void had appeared right in front of them. The gate seemingly opened but then the darkness energy around it began to transform into a humanoid like shape. The group then suddenly let their guard down as a familiar person had transformed out of the darkness energy that had converged in front of them.

“Se-Seiryu?” Yue asked as she went near him and tried to reach for his hand. She noticed that her hand just went through his like it was just air. This brought a bit of sadness to her once again.

“Hey.” He said to her as his red eyes shone deeply in the night now. “Can you see me?” the long haired student said to her as darkness blew around him. Only Yue now was in front and near the long haired student now as the rest move a bit back to give the two people space to talk and sort things out.

“I can.” She said softly as she turned her back on him. There were tears rushing down her cheeks.

“What’s wrong?” Seiryu said to her as he reached out to her. At first he didn’t feel her shoulders but then he put his mind into conjuring darkness around him like calm winds and in time he was able to touch her again.

She was surprised as well as she felt his hand on her shoulder.

“You said you’d return.” She said to him without facing him. “Why aren’t you here still here?” Yue continued to ask.

“It’s ah, a long story.” Seiryu said to her. “But you know I’m not the type to turn back on a promise.” He said as she now faced him again.

“So where are you?” Yue asked him in response to his statement earlier.

“Some place.” He replied with a grin on his face. Fran and the others tried to hold in their laughter, because they knew that Yue didn’t like to be teased too much.

“Stop giving me open ended answers!” she shouted at him and this caused the long haired student to smile. He had missed her impatient self and the times that he always teased and annoyed the hell out of her.

“Make me.” Seiryu replied to her and the girl immediately attempted to punch him with her right hand.

The long haired student just dodged the attack and he took hold of Yue’s arm to stop her from being off-balanced. He then noticed that around her wrist was the platinum chain that he had given her earlier. This brought a smile on his face.

“So you kept it after all.” He said to her as he held on her wrist.

“I did.” She replied without looking at him. “It was my only reminder of you…” she said to him once more.

“Well you’d better do a good job of keeping it.” He commanded her as he let out a smirk. “It was my brother’s after all.” He said to her.

Yue smiled at him as she saw him once more. His red eyes and his long brown hair that had reached up to his shoulders stood out to her the most. Darkness energy still flowed and wavered around him and it was an indicator that his presence in front of the group was nothing more than an apparition of darkness energy.

The darkness around Seiryu continued to flow as he was still with her. He went enar her once more and saw that she still had tears flowing from her eyes.

“You don’t need to cry.” He said. Now he has a serious demeanor on his face. He wiped her tears with his hand. She in return held it close to her cheeks.

“I can’t help it…” she said. “I’m talking to an apparition and not to the real thing so it makes me wonder if you are really going to return soon.” Yue said to him.

“Don’t worry too much ditz.” He said to her as he smiled. It was one of the few times that you would actually see Seiryu smile at anyone. “I said it before and I’ll say it again, I’ll find my way back to you I will.” He said to her as he now went nearer and embraced her from behind.

Yue’s tears didn’t stop flowing but then she felt his arms around her shoulders now. She responded with her own gesture as she held on the long haired student’s arms with her hands. Seiryu’s head was right beside her and his lips was close to her ears.

“Remember what I said…” he whispered to her ears softly as darkness energy and light energy flowed from both of their bodies. Yue looked around and saw that the darkness around her wasn’t hurting anyone. It was complete proof that Seiryu had finally learned to control it fully.

“Yeah.” She said softly as she closed her eyes now.

“No matter where I go, I’ll always be with you.” The long haired student said to her as his embrace tightened a little bit. “Always.” He said to her softly again.

“I’ll always be with you too…” she said as she felt Seiryu now revert back to darkness energy as his whole body now slowly began to be one with the darkness around them. “I won’t forget…” she said in her mind as she opened her eyes and let out a smile.

The dark energy that had been with them earlier that formed Seiryu’s apparition now flowed freely around the group of students in the ruins of the Sanctum. Yue, Fran and the rest saw that the darkness winds were beautiful and soon after that the presence of the darkness and Seiryu’s apparition had disappeared fully.

The azure haired girl then held her right wrist up as she now looked at the platinum chain that had encircled it.

I’ll always be with you

She then faced her friends and they saw a different side of her now. Yue looked a lot stronger and filled with hope for she knew that she would see the person she cherished the most again.

Lucian and the others now went near her and the calm student was the one who reached out his hand to her.

“I think it’s time for us to go home.” He said to her.

“I know.” Yue said to him with a smile on her face. “I know you’ll be back.” She thought to herself. Lucian read her mind and he smiled at the thought that he had heard. It was really true that she had cared for Seiryu the most.

“All right!” Zaix said as he also witnessed the events between Seiryu and Yue. “Looks like we’re about to head on home and tell everyone what had happened.” He shouted at them as he was making his way towards the repaired airship. It had gashes sure but he guaranteed the group that it was functional

“Yeah. A detailed report of this mission will be necessary.” Julia said as she walked ahead of the group.

“Always the cold one huh Miss Julia?” the calm student said to her.

“Yeah lighten up a bit.” Fran commanded her as she ruffled her grey hair. Julia had the look of an irritated person but then she sighed afterwards.

“Fran sure is kind of loud.” Terrah said as she walked beside Melfice and Lucian.

“You have no idea.” Lucian replied to her and the nun let out a small laugh.

Melfice looked back and saw Yue behind him as she walked towards the rest of the group now.

“Seems like you’re okay.” The hybrid wielder said to her as he clasped his hands behind his head.

“Yeah.” She replied to him. “I have faith in him; that he would return.” Yue said as she and Melfice looked towards the horizon. It was a full moon indeed but it felt like a new dawn was rising for them all.

“Yeah.” Melfice said. “Faith.” He added as he had thought of an old friend that meant a lot to him as well.

It was a partial reunion indeed but that small moment between Seiryu’s apparition and Yue had brought a huge amount of hope to the azure haired girl.

Hope that they would see each other again and be reunited for reality.
