Episode 24 - Defeat

Chapter 24 – Defeat

“Yahhhhh!” Seiryu shouted as he rushed towards Verrath with all of his might. The latter then anticipated his attack and shifted to the left side to evade it. He countered with a back swing of the other end of his Swallow Blades.

Seiryu saw the incoming attack and he defended it just on time and the clash between their weapons produced grey and darkness energies around them. Verrath moved away a bit to gain some distance, but the long haired student now wushed back at him and executed two slashes, one vertical and the other horizontal. The leader of the Sentis raised his weapon to defend himself and again he jumped backwards.

Grey energy flames now produced around him and he executed a 360 spin to gain momentum for his other attack. A fire blast of grey color now made its way towards the darkness wielder.

“Dark Flare.” Seiryu said as he countered with his own darkness ray from his hand. An explosion immediately was produced and Verrath took advantage of this smokescreen.

The leader of the Sentis dashed towards Seiryu and immediately a spinning slash was executed by him from his Swallow Blades. The long haired student didn’t see it coming as he was cut by the attack again on his torso. He reeled backa s he regained his composure and Verrath again was on the aggressive.

“No time to rest now!” he shouted as he jumped up high in the air and grey energy raged around him.

Seiryu followed him upward as he jumped up high as well. His blade was now wrapped around darkness energy and he immediately closed in on the Sentis leader. A strong slash came crashing on Verrath’s Swallow Blades as he was defending himself in the air now. Another combo of slashes came forward from Seiryu as the two magnificently fought in the air each trying to get an advantage over the other.

The two fighters landed on the ground again and they stared each other down with both of their eyes with an intent kill one another. Seiryu’s red eyes than glowed as darkness built up on his blade while Verrath’s own emerald eyes shone with the grey energy abundant around him; he had no emotions on his face whatsoever.

“Why do you fight?” the leader and remaining Sentis member asked him as his grip on his weapon became firmer.

“You don’t need to know.” Seiryu replied as he as well held on his weapon tightly.

“It is testament to your will and strength.” Verrath said to him. “You have saved the world already. Why still fight me? When we both know what is inevitable.” He continued as his blades began to shine a bright light color.

“You don’t stop talking do you?” he said at him.

“Death is our only choice.” The leader said to him. “We have nothing to come back to and nothing to live for.” He added.

“Don’t compare me to you.” Seiryu replied as he cringed at his adversary’s statement. “I have people to come back to and someone to live for…” he thought to himself.
