Chapter 7 – Vrede versus Seiryu
Each flame that had panned the surroundings, a surge of darkness was the inevitable counter to it. Vrede and Seiryu now continued to strike at one another with their weapons as their fight continued to intensify.
The red haired Sentis member let out a huge blast of fire from both of his sickles as he executed two horizontal slashes from his blades. The long haired student jumped up to evade the fires around him and Vrede took advantage of this by following up high.
He let out two more slashes from his sickles in order to hit Seiryu as he seemed to be of guard in the air. Little did he know that the long haired student was capable enough to defend himself and that’s just what he did.
“Nice try.” Seiryu said as he put some distance between him and the Sentis member. He conjured darkness on his feet and this propelled him towards Vrede with amazing speed.
“Yakekoge Senko!” he shouted as he executed an aerial version of the attack.
Vrede got hit on the torso as he felt the darkness burn on his body. He clutched his abdomen area as he tried to land on the ground safely. The red haired Sentis member did land on the ground and after he had, he let out a ring of flames around him.
Seiryu as well landed on the ground and he stood still. He was calm and composed in this fight, which was highly unusual because he usually is aggressive.
“You’re not fighting seriously.” The red haired Sentis member said to him as flames swirled around his body.
“No, you’re wrong.” The long haired student replied to him.
“Then why aren’t you aggressive?” Vrede asked. “Usually you get pissed in an instant.” He added.
“Don’t get me confused with the other fire boy.” He replied with a stoic look on his face.
“Right, right just keep acting tough.” The red haired sentis member said to him. “It had to hurt though right?” he then said with a smirk on his face.
Seiryu’s darkness began to rage behind him. It would seem that his adversary had begun to play mind games once more.
“Being abandoned…” Vrede’s voice sounded even colder than before. Flames around him began to wrap around his body.
“Enough with the talking.” Seiryu said as he let his darkness rage around him and he shifted into a one handed right thrust stance.
The fires around Vrede raged around him and another phoenix had been bor but this time the wings of the magical creature had sprouted from the red haired Sentis’ back and fires played around him like they were nothing.
“When fire strikes, a lot get hurt.” The red haired Sentis member said to him as he stood still now and the flames around him had disappeared. This had surprised the long haired student just a bit, but then when he saw that Vrede opened his eyes, they were now of the same color which was a bright orange color. “Now, show me what you got!” he shouted as flames again had appeared and he rushed towards the Treyah student with his weapons at hand.
Seiryu then held his stance and in a few moments she also began to charge at his adversary.
“Satsujin ken, Seirei Bunshu (Spirit Splitter)!” he said as he began to close in on the fire wielding Sentis member.
The long haired darkness wielder suddenly closed in and he began to thrust his katana blade towards his adversary. Vrede tried to anticipate it but it was coming in too fast so he had to think of a way to block or evade it. The red haired Sentis member saw an opening as he ducked to avoid the attack from connecting.
“What the?!” Seiryu said as his attack missed and this opened him up.
Vrede took the initiative and swung a flaming uppercut punch from below and this had landed flush on Seiryu’s chin which had sent him slightly up in the air. The red haired Sentis member followed up with two slashes from his sickles after he jumped up towards Seiryu’s level.
“Fushicho tsume! (Phoenix claws)” he shouted as he executed a flaming slash from his sickles that landed flush on Seiryu and this sent him falling to the ground. Vrede followed soon as he landed safely as well.
“Urgghh!” Seiryu exclaimed as the impact of the ground pained him. He struggled to stand and ended up kneeling on one knee.
“Had enough?!” Vrede shouted as he let his fires rage around him. “Holy Flames of Garuda, come to my aid!” he shouted as the phoenix wings sprouted once more from his back.
“Yaaaaahhh!” Seiryu shouted as his darkness raged out of nowhere and now intensified even more. His eyes looked redder than they already were and he held on his sword tighter.
Seiryu rushed towards Vrede and executed a series of slashes. The latter as well tried to attack him but they were now evenly matched this time as their grueling battle was a stalemate. When the red haired Sentis member attacked him, the Treyah student seemed to parry and vice versa. Their weapons would clash and at the moment each time this happens, an explosion of darkness and fire energy always had been produced.
Vrede attempted two consecutive horizontal slashes from his sickles at each hand as he executed a 360 degree turn to propel himself to such a maneuver. Seiryu saw it coming though and he dodged it perfectly as he countered with a slash that once more connected at his adversary’s arm this time. His grey cloak was ripped in that area as he continued to attack.
“Yah!” the red haired Sentis member said as he blasted a huge fire energy from his hand after he had put some distance between him and his enemy.
“No you don’t!” Seiryu shouted at him as he blasted him with a dark flare with return.
There again was an explosion produced after the two energies had met once more and when the fog had cleared up, the two of them were standing once more. They were staring each other down.
Seiryu had a wound across his torso as his shirt was already ripped. He was cut as well on the right side of his face as blood dripped off of it, Vrede on the other hand had his cloak tattered and ripped and his torso wound also showed; the left arm of his as well dripped blood along it as he tried to resist the pain.
“It’s pretty much a stalemate.” Vrede said as he tried to regain his composure. As he did, he began to stand up straight and his wounds began to not bother him at all. “At least you’re actually hitting me this time.” He added.
“Tired already?” Seiryu said as darkness began to wrap his katana once more. “Maybe you just need to die.” He added as his eyes glint a bright red color.
“Overconfidence can be someone’s downfall.” The red haired Sentis member said as he smirked. “But then again, aren’t all humans guilty of that particular feeling?” he said to him.
“Whatever.” The long haired student said to him. “I’m not here to hear one of your rants.” He said to him.
“I’m no Verrath. I take no passion in destroying the world you live in.” Vrede said as he walked a little to the left and fires once more raged on his hands. “You humans are quite capable of doing that yourselves.” He said.
“Then why tie yourself to him?” the long haired student asked him in response.
“No idea.” The red haired Sentis member replied to him. “I don’t think about those things, I just do.” He said as fires appeared from all sides. “Enough talk, now it’s time to end you once and for all.” Vrede ended as he let the phoenix wings sprout once more from his back.
“You should tell that to yourself.” Seiryu replied to him as he rushed at him again.
Their fight will continue on, but only one could survive the ordeal that has been bestowed between the two of them.
