Hijacked

Chapter Eleven

                I woke up today to find Katniss grabbing her boots to put on and starts going downstairs. I grin and run up to her and grab her waist before she could make it to the first step. She laughs as I spin her around and kiss her lips gently. When I break away she has a huge grin on her face. "What was that for?" "Just a kiss to tell you I love you." She grins and I set her down. She grabs a apple from her counter. "Okay what's your schedule today?" She says with a mouth full of apple.

                        I giggle. "I have a doctors appointment in Eight, then I'll be back tomorrow." She smiles. "Okay, I'm just going hunting today and maybe I'll spend the night at Sae's." She walks up to me and rests her head on my chest. "Just be careful okay? If a doctor tells you something is wrong, call Sae's phone alright?" I nod. I lean down and kiss her lips slowly, for a long moment in the morning sunlight beaming through the window that makes my eyes water. When we break away her grey eyes look so vibrant and alive, with a few specks of gold glittering in her iris. "You're so beautiful Katniss." She giggles.

                         "I love you Peeta Mellark, more than you know." She says with her eyes forming tears in them. I brush them away quickly. "Hey, what's wrong?" "Just please promise me you'll come home, don't you dare ever leave me Peeta, if something happened to you, I wouldn't be able to live without you." I kiss her lips once more. "I promise." She wipes her tears viciously away with the back of her hand, she hates crying... She says it shows that she is weak. She grabs my hand, putting on  a brave smile. "I'll see you tomorrow then." I nod, grabbing one of her leather jackets sleeves and roll it up so i won't be covering her hand in contrast to the other.

                               I kiss her four head. "See you tomorrow."  She smiles and walks to the door, slowly turns the handle and walks out into the spring breeze. That day I grab my light jacket and I set Buttercups food bowl on the ground and then grab the brass door knob and walk out the door. As I get on the train I see a young woman with two bags. I walk over to her and pick them up from her hands. She looks up and smiles. "Thank you." I nod and she walks beside me as she puts her blond hair in a loose bun. I smile at her. "Where is your quarter at?"  She girns.

                           "The left side of the train." I nod and bring her things into the room. I set them down on her bed and notice that she has pictures of her family already in here. I stare in confusion. "Do you live on this train?" She laughs. "With going back and fourth from the Capitol and District Twelve I guess you could say I do... My daughter is very sick with a mutated illness, so I live in the Capitol most of the time and my other children live here with their grandmother." I nod and she looks into my eyes.

                        "Are you alright?" I smile a little. "Oh it's nothing... I just have tests today at the Capitol and I'm worried." She puts her hand on my cheek. "You'll be fine, thank you for helping me and I hope everything goes well for you." I nod and shake her hand. That night I sit on my bed drinking a glass of wine.

                 I start thinking of what Katniss is doing and how her day went, I hope she misses me as much as I miss her. I giggle, looking at my wine."She loves wine." I don't finish it though, I leave it on the mahogany bed stand and get under the covers of the plush velvet and then fall asleep with her in my thoughts.

                             I lay in a clear white room with the doctors as they hook me up to machines and strap my arms and legs onto the metal table. Dr. Aruleus smiles with his grey hair shining in the bright light of the room. "Don't worry Peeta, you'll wake up with no more flashbacks and a perfect life with Katniss, okay?" I nod as the anesthetics course through my body, then I fall into a deep sleep.

When I wake I hear a few whispers and then I see a blurry vision of two doctors coming in with a smile.

                    "Hello Peeta, someone is here to see you." A woman with dark hair in a braid and long sleeved shirt with slacks. She holds flowers and her grey eyes twinkle with happiness. "Hey Peeta, I missed you, are you ready to go home?" I clear my throat as she sets the flowers on my night stand. "I'm sorry, who are you?" Her smile drops. "I'm Katniss Peeta..." She says putting her hand to her chest. "I don't know a Katniss."

                   That sends a sting through my heart for some reason and she lets tears roll down her cheek and she grabs my hand. "Yes you do Peeta, please-" "You need to leave please Miss. Everdeen, knock him out!" Two doctors grab her arms and she starts screaming and thrashing to make them let go. "LET ME GO! PLEASE! YOU'RE DEAD ARULEUS!!!!!! I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!!!! YOU TOOK HIM FROM ME!!!" Then the doctor puts a needle in my neck and I fall into a purple fog of confusion.
