Chapter Six

“Has anyone seen Minister Rayon?” Xavier asked his Ministers, they were in the midst of a meeting around the war room’s table, as of now there were no wars to speak of in a number of years so it was used for the Ministers to have the chance to go over things like taxes and up incoming events for the coming year. As of now they were talking about the accomplishment of killing the Shadow Blood Hound however Rayon was nowhere to be seen. “There is something I would like to speak with him in private as soon as possible.”

A few of the other Minister’s paused from their paper work to look at the Prince, the one who responded was Belcove. “Actually I think he and his family have gone to their villa, after the incident of the wolf…” he paused then cleared his throat. “Sorry, I mean Shadow Bloodhound, he’d thought it would be best for his family to go and relax for a little while.”

“Without tell me?” Xavier asked with a disapproving gaze before propping his elbows on top of the table and lacing his fingers together. “Don’t misunderstand my anger, family is important, I understand that fully, however, I do wish that you all tell me if you are about to go somewhere notify me first. In the past you were allowed to do as such but now that can no longer happen for when I become King you all do realize that things will change.”

“We realize that,” Doldray said with a nod. “We only ask that you allow us to guide you some of the way, we only wish to offer to help you to advance your reign.”

“And if you ever feel like you are overwhelmed we can help with the load.” Cole said then Herald butted in adding a slight joke.

“Then running to your sister, not that any of us blame you for running from your duty, as you say family is important.” His humor diminished slightly. “Although after some time you will have to start looking at marriage proposals.”

Xavier cringed, he didn’t want to do that he had nothing against marriages, or weddings he just never could really see it for himself, not after what his stepmother… he suddenly felt sick to his stomach.

Doldray noticed how the Prince’s expression looked unsettled. “You’re Majesty? Are you alright? You do not look well.”

Xavier looked at the man. “I am alright,” he sighed, settling further into his chair before rubbing his eyes with his left hand. “Just let me not hear anything about marriage proposals for a while alright?”

“We understand,” Cole said.

“Understand?”  Kayle repeated looking rather angry at what he had just heard. “You must be joking! The Prince has been of marrying age ever since he turned seventeen, why wait? If anything he should already have had an heir for the thrown now, and Celina will soon be of marrying age as well should we not be looking for a suitor for her sooner…”

“That is enough!” Xavier snapped, causing everyone in the room to jump as his sudden booming voice, with a look of rage he got out of his chair and slowly walked towards Kayle, the slight sound of limping steps echoing through the room as he reached the man. He stopped merely inches away from the man, Kayle was only a couple of inches taller than Xavier but never the less he looked almost fearful of the Crown Prince.

Xavier stared at him in silence his ice blue eyes piercing Kayle’s brown like daggers, the prince then lowered his voice in a calm respected manor but holding a note of anger while keeping his gaze locked right on the man.
