Chapter Sixteen

The pain in Celina’s abdomen had returned once more with a vengeance, when Tharen and Celina were nearing the end of their dance the Elven King asked if she was alright for she looked rather pale.

Quickly she told him that she was fine, and had only felt nervous during the ceremony, and she was just now finally allowing her mind to have it sink in that her Brother was King. But in all reality she did not know what was wrong with her body, it was like a knife was stabbing her with little pricks inside her stomach and trying to get out, which did not make sense to her in the slightest.

“Princess?” Celina looked to see both Ann and Maria briskly walking over to her; they both looked especially worried about her. “Are you not feeling well? You look very pale.”

“I don’t know what’s wrong with me,” she said honestly. “I just keep getting this same feeling of dull pain in my stomach, it’s there and then it goes away. Like someone is repeatedly stabbing my stomach internally with a knife.”

Both Ann and Maria looked at each other as if they knew what was wrong.

“What?” she asked in worried confusion. “Am I really ill?”

“No of course not!” Ann said quickly as Maria nodded. “You’re not ill, you’re just… just maturing, as you have probably noticed as you and I grow our bodies change, this is just one of those changes that is all.”

“That’s right you’ll be alright.” Maria added for good measure.

“Is that so?” Celina said with a slight sigh of relief. “That is good to hear although I wish whatever this change was, didn’t hurt as much.”

Ann then had an idea “There is something that can make in the kitchens, it’s something that can at least take away the pain for an amount of time, my mother showed it to me when the same thing happened to Maria.”

“Really?” Celina looked to Maria who nodded. “Then I would greatly appreciate it if you could make this drink for me as well.”

Ann nodded and then took Maria aside for a moment and spoke softly. “If you able don’t leave her alone alright, considering who is here with us it may be a problem.”

“I won’t leave her.”

“Alright then,” Ann looked back to Celina with a smile. “I will be as fast as I am able Princess, so until then please try not to move around so I cannot find you.”

Celina gave a slight laugh. “To tell you the truth I feel a bit tired so I won’t be running around, I will be here or close to the spot when you are back.”

With a nod Ann quickly dashed off ducking and weaving past nobles so she would make a run to the kitchen to do whatever she needed to do.

“Do you want to sit down Princess?” Maria asked and Celina shook her head. “Are you sure about that? You shouldn’t strain yourself.”

“I am not that weak Maria, I have been taught to stand on my feet even if I can no longer take it, at least that’s what Victoria pushed into my skull.”

“Who is this again?”

“Minister Kayle’s wife, she and even their only son Cain is here as well all the Minister’s and their families are, well all but Rayson.”
