Chapter Twenty Two

A number of days had passed since the royals Sader left, though Nikhita wished to stay to see if Amala really did indeed leave before them she knew that she had to return with her family. But before leaving Nikhita gave the Princess one last hug and whispered.

“Become strong Little Phoenix, now that your brother is King there shall be more challenges ahead of you. Be wary of those who seek your trust.”

After hearing that Celina didn’t know what to think right away, but as the words sunk in she knew that there would be more people who would wish to harm her. Yet even though the royal’s so Sader had left those from Labidier remained, as well as Tharen and a number of his men, seeing this was rather strange to her, if she recalled it correctly those who came for the coronation would stay for at least two weeks and then return to their lands shortly after.

Yet they remained, how odd. Could it have been due to the possible engagement of Eleanor and her Brother the King that caused this?

“Radu!” Celina called out when she saw him quickly walking to some unknown destination. “Do you have a moment?”

He looked almost flustered. “Y-yes? What is it Princess Celina?”

“I well…” she hesitated. “I don’t mean to sound rude but why are you still here? Shouldn’t you and your father return home now?”

This seemed to remove the flustered feeling he had before, Radu went from nervous to almost cold at the mention of his father. “Ah, well I wouldn’t know that myself my Father doesn’t really speak to me about that.”

She scowled. “But you are his son.”

Radu simply shrugged. “Just because I am his son does not mean he will tell me anything.”

That made no sense to her. “But why would that be? You’re his son; does he think you would betray him?”

He thinks everyone will betray him; it’s one of the reasons why my Mother died. But Radu simply shrugged. “I don’t know what I can tell you Princess. It’s just how my Father is.”

That still doesn’t make it right… she thought.

“How is that nobleman’s son?” Radu asked changing the subject. “Xavier, I mean, the King, really did a number on him.”

“You mean Cain,” she said and Radu nodded. “From what his father tells me, he is fine.” Though she didn’t really believe him since Kayle looked almost livid about what Xavier had done. “I haven’t seen Cain since then though.”

“Dose that worry you?” he asked folding his arms across his chest.

“A bit,” she said honestly. “But I think he’ll be alright, my brother might have been angry at the time but I don’t think he would do something like kill him.”

Are you sure about that? Radu thought, recalling how Xavier looked a few days ago when the King asked him what he thought of Celina. Those cold eyes still jarred him even now.
