Chapter Twelve

A few nights before the impending day everyone who worked in the castle rushed to get rooms prepared for the guests that would be attending from faraway lands, mainly from Labadier and Sader. In fact a number of people from Sader had already arrived, well, at least from what Celina recalled when that woman helped fight off the bandits that tried to attack her. Celina sighed as she stared out one of the windows of the castle to the kingdoms vast lands, everyone was so busy with things she felt so useless since whenever she asked to assist someone they would always respectfully, and kindly decline the offer saying that this was no work for a Princess to be doing.

And now she just felt terribly board.

Her expression changed however when she saw her brother talking to Eric and Ares though they were too far to hear what they were saying to Xavier, Eric then noticed Celina and drew the Prince’s attention to her. She smiled at him and waved, as he then did the same before continuing on with the conversation.

As he and then two men walked off Celina couldn’t help but feel almost lonely, after so many years of being close to her brother, and now that he was going to become King, it was rather difficult. She wanted him to be a good King, but she didn’t want to lose the connection she had with him ether.

I had forgotten how difficult it can be when being that of the royal bloodline. I wonder if mother or father ever felt lonely before they had Xavier and I? She clasped her hands together and headed towards the great library, if there was nothing for her to do then she could at least pass the time by catching up on her studies. Still, my brother will be fine, I know he will. I just wonder after this, what lies ahead of us in our paths of life?

“Did you hear what happened to the Lady of the Fordemont family?”

Celina paused when she had just entered the large library; there were a few maids who were working on dusting the shelves as they spoke, not knowing the Princess had entered. Quickly she ducked in behind the shelves so as to not be seen.

“You mean that dreadful woman Rosa Frodemont? Oh I shouldn’t be saying that now she’s passed.”

“No one would blame you for saying that,” the other maid said with a wave of her hand. “It is true she was a rather devious woman, always proclaiming how she intended to get the Prince’s hand in marriage only to always fail miserably to the point of her lashing out at others around her.”

“Oh I know, she would always say if the Princess wasn’t around she and the other women would have a chance in getting his hand.”

“That is just horrible; she would never keep her mouth shut about it. I even heard that she wanted to poison the Princess so that she could have a chance with His Majesty, she would even say those things in front of the knights no less.”

“It’s shameful, but I do feel rather bad about Rosa’s younger sister, what was her name again? Lily? Didn’t she also have an infatuation with the Prince too?”

“She is, or was, a year younger then Rosa, but unlike her older sister Lily always remained to keep her thoughts to herself, though I have to say that I don’t like her. That young woman is probably more conniving than her sister.”

The woman let out a sound of a disturbed. “How disturbing, I feel rather concerned for the Princess, I help that does not get worse when His Majesty becomes King.”
