Chapter 2

The Overlord is one sneaky man. Of course, no one knows what he did. The ground starts to shake, just barely noticeable to anyone. But...to the Master of Earth, it gave him a very bad vibe...

"Something's up," the raven-haired master mumbles to himself. "You said something?" Kai asks, peering up from his phone. "No, nothing," Cole shakes his head and flips the page of his book. Yet...he couldn't shake off that feeling, that something bad is happening.

Sophie looks up at the sun. This strong energy wave felt way too familiar...like the Overlord's! Sophie quickly gets up, breathing heavily. What is this feeling? It felt as if something of her's is being used...like maybe....

...her life force?!

The draining feeling is almost impossible to fight against. Little, by little, Sophie felt her energy drain away. She feels her very life force being taken away. Going from her heart, and out through her fingertips. Sophie's eyes widen, the purpleness is leaving here, flying into who knows what. Sophie clutches the area where her heart is and bites her lip to keep from screaming. She fell down, feeling almost lifeless. I can't keep this up...

No one suspects a thing inside the dojo. Wu closed his eyes, attempting to meditate. He quickly opens his eyes, worry written all over his face. "That can't be...I thought-"

"-Thought what?" Kai asks, walking into the room with a plate of food. He sets it down next to Wu and looks expectantly at him. "It's nothing, don't worry yourself over it," Wu answers, waving his hand dismissively. "I know you well enough to know that you're lying Sensei. Eat the food," Kai says. Sensei sighs, then takes a bite. "You've been caught up in taking care of the others that you forget to take care of yourself," Sensei says. It's true, Kai did look a little paler. His spikes were a little flat, and his eyes look duller. He just looks tired.

"Don't change the subject! I know what you're trying to do," Kai replies. "Okay, okay, fine. I'm not completely sure but Acheron might've been awaken," Sensei begins. "What? Who's Acheron? And what do you mean 'might've been awaken'?" Kai questions, sitting down. "Acheron is like the Overlord. Just...weirder," Sensei adds. "He was put to sleep because we couldn't figure out anything else to do against them. But now...I feel his presence, and that's not go-oh no," Sensei stops abruptly. "Sensei? Why'd you say 'oh no?'" Kai asks, looking concerned. Sensei gets up, then rushes out.

"Sensei!" Kai calls out, but Wu is already gone. Kai sighs and gets up. Then takes the empty plate to the kitchen.

"Did you eat?" Kai asks Nya. "I did," Nya answers.

"Are you sure?"

"Of course I'm sure."

"You aren't lying?"

"Kai! Why would I lie? Did everyone else eat?"

"Yeah, and they're asleep now."

"Where's Sensei?"

"Outside."

"What's he doing out there?"

"I have no clue..."

"You look worried, is something up?"

"N-no, nothing. It's nothing."

"If you say so..."

"Um, Nya?"

"Yeah?"

"Are we scared?"

".....I......don't know....."

"I thought you might say that, well, goodnight."

"Why ask that though? You were pretty quick to go against it last night."

"It just got me thinking..maybe we're just scaredy-cats and too proud to admit it because it makes us look bad."

"Oh..okay. Well, uh, that does make sense."

"How would you feel if there's another villain we have to face?"

"Please not now...we have enough going on."

"I see..."

"Is there a villain?"

"....no....."

"You're lying."

"I really don't know."

"Kai, you can tell me stuff."

"I know. I just don't say things because I want to protect you."

"I don't need it! I can do it myself!"

"Listen. You don't understand...it's an older sibling thing."

"C'mon!"

"I'm serious!"

"Ha, okay, suit yourself."

"Jeez Nya."

Lloyd sleepily walks into the kitchen. Zane already started to make breakfast, the fresh smell tingling everyone's taste buds. Everyone else came in and grab a plate so that they can eat.

Wu walks in, looking rather worried. "Something wrong Sensei?" Zane asks, turning off the stove. "Nothing is wrong," Wu answers, clearly lying. Kai growls to himself and takes a bite of the egg to keep it from being loud. "Sensei, you can tell us stuff," Jay says. "Yeah, if anything, I want to assume that we're more trustworthy than any other person," Cole adds. "You all are trustworthy..I just don't like to worry you all with problems that may not even exist to begin with," Wu replies.

"Sensei, you know as well as I do that everything you worry about, turns out to be a problem," Lloyd says while munching on some pancakes. "He's got a point," Nya agrees, then uses her fork to pick up a slice of fruit. "Just forget about it," Wu repeats, then leaves with an apple.

"And here's your breakfast Misako," Zane says and hands her a plate filled with food. "Thank you Zane," Misako says and starts to eat. "Man, I wonder what Sensei was so worried about," Jay sighs. "Yeah, he seemed especially worried this time," Cole adds. "Maybe a villain?" Nya guesses. "I sure hope not," Lloyd mumbles. "Worried they'll want to take your life or powers?" Kai asks, in a humorous tone. Everyone laughs a little.

"Ughhhhh, I'm so done with just sitting here," Jay cries and sulks into the couch. "Same. I wonder how Sophie's doing.." Nya's voice trails off. "Who knows.." Jay replies.

"We can't tell if it's getting worse or better or if it's staying the same. It stinks to be this clueless," Jay sighs.

"Well maybe we'd know if we tried to talk..."

"You know we can't just talk. It might just put her over the edge."

"Ugh. I hate this! It's like, we're too afraid to do anything yet it might just be our lack of communication."

"We can never be certain I guess."

A bright red light surrounds the Bounty. The couple look at each other, confused and worried.

"Guys! There's someone attacking!"
