Chapter 14

Lloyd looks desperately into Alter's eyes, trying to find any green left. "Time to die Green Ninja!" The dark voice from Alter echos. Lloyd shuts his eyes for a second, then opens them up and sees Nya standing in front of him.

"Sophie! You need to stop!" Nya yells, starting a staring contest with Alter. "You can't let yourself be controlled!"

"The time for that talk is over! You had your chance to save your so-called 'friend' and you blew it," Alter swings her hand from her chest area to her side, causing a wave of black to attack Nya.

Nya puts up a water shield, blocking the majority of the wave but still getting cuts from the remaining parts. "You're wrong!" Nya calls out, stepping back but keeping herself in front of Lloyd.

"Are you really going to hurt your cousin? Are you letting your morals slip away just like that?! That's obscured! You're becoming the person that you didn't want to become!" Nya reasons, glaring into the solid black eyes.

"Haha, how sweet. Why didn't you imbeciles say anything sooner? Like hell anything is going to make a difference now," Alter laughs, scoffing at them. Practically mocking them.

"I tried! I really did! Y-you were just so..so..sensitive that we couldn't say anything without triggering the Overlord," Nya yells, tears dotting her vision.

"Well too late. Sophie is gone. It's just me, her alter ego. Or the Overlord from time to time," Alter announces. She flicks her wrist towards Nya and sends her flying backwards, leaving Lloyd in the open.

"I'll go deal with that girl first. I'll kill you later," Alter was right past Lloyd, punching his stomach for the fun of it.

She walks over to Nya, who got back up and is now putting up her fists. "I don't want to fight you," Nya warns.

"Tch. Your fists say so otherwise you idiot," Alter runs towards her, about to hurt her when Kai comes from the side and kicks Alter away.

"Oh ho. Looks like the big brother showed up," Alter grins, wiping the blood off of her face.

"Yeah, and in case you forgot, I'm your big brother too Sophie," Kai narrows his eyes, helping Nya stand.

"Pffft. Is that supposed to make me feel something? Well, tough luck fire boy," Alter shrugs. She jumps and sends black waves at Kai. He puts up a fire shield, effectively blocking the wave of attacks.

"Take Lloyd and go somewhere safe," Kai instructs, pushing his flames towards Alter. She falls onto the ground gracefully and blocks the fire with her shield.

Kai runs towards Alter, keeping her distracted from Nya running towards Lloyd. Kai's fists go on fire and he throws a series of punches at Alter. Who puts up her arms in defense, burn marks forming on her arms.

Nya carries Lloyd towards the bushes, making sure they were both hidden well.

Kai notices the burn marks and stops, jumping back to distance himself from Alter. "Man I know you guys are pretty dumb but this is just something else!" Alter points to the burn marks. "You could've burned my arms to the point that I wouldn't be able to use them. Yet you back off. You guys are some pretty weird softies," Alter sense more black waves towards Kai, pushing her hands forward to increase the pressure.

Kai put up a fire shield again, the flames disintegrating the black waves coming towards him.

"I don't think I need to make you lose your limbs in order to beat you," Kai replies. He keeps on hand to use the shield and uses his other hand to make waves of fire attack Alter.

Alter uses one hand to put up a shield against the fire, it was slowly burning it but couldn't burn the core of the shield. Alter uses her other hand to continue sending waves of black against Kai.

The fire master jumps up, letting go of the shield and using his hands to now send huge amounts of fire towards Alter.

Alter puts her hands above her head, a shield blocking the fire.

Kai adds more pressure as he sees someone moving through the shadows. He lands on his feet and walks towards Alter, the fire getting stronger.

Alter focuses all her power into the shield. Trying to avoid being burned. Alter gets pushed back next to the bushes.

A moment later, Jay attacks Alter from the bushes. The lighting electrocuting Alter and causing her shield to go down. The fire stops as Alter falls onto her knees.

"F-forgot about my open spaces," Alter coughs up blood, staggering as she got up.

"She's bleeding a lot..." Jay notices, regrouping with Kai. "Argh, I'm so confused! Are Nya and Lloyd out off harms way?" Kai asks, worry overtaking his face.

"Yeah..Cole and Zane are helping Sensei with fighting Acheron. Misako is with Nya and Lloyd," Jay explains, eyeing Alter from the corner of his eye.

Alter struggled to get up, blood oozing around her as she falls down again.

"I-it hurts.." her voice trails off, looking at her hands in dismay.

Acheron seemed to notice Alter losing badly. He throws a smoke bomb, then runs quickly to Alter. He then picks up her and runs away, concern flooding his face.

"Sophie? Are you okay?!" Acheron asks, running faster as more blood soaked his clothes.

"Oww...everything hurts..." Alter mummers, her voice shaking as she tries to compose herself. Acheron looks down, his gaze soft as he slowed his pace to their camp.

He sets Alter down in the make-shift tent. Acheron then gets the first-aid and starts to wrap up Alter's wounds and clean the blood. "You're gonna be okay," Acheron mummers over and over again.

"You're saying that just to convince yourself," Alter croaks our with a smile.

"Ha. Just keep your limbs on and we'll see who I'm trying to convince," Acheron replies with a smile.
