Chapter 19

"If it wasn't coming from you I'd consider that as a sort of flirt," Cole chuckles.

"Well good thing you know it's not," Sophie laughs back. Her hand moves a little, showing a small sign of healing.

"At least you still got one good hand?" Cole notices the long face Sophie made.

"Yeah...but I..I can't do anything like this. I can't even carry out the plan that I have..I really just want everything to settle and have some peace.." Sophie's voice trails off.

"Hey it's okay..everyone gets injured and you'll heal up in no time. Then we can worry about Acheron and getting rid of the Overlord," Cole true and reassures her.

"Acheron..I thought he was a good person at heart, just missing his brother but clearly not. He..he did this to me!" Sophie sighs deeply.

"No wonder you and Lloyd are cousins..you both feel like you might follow your parents' evil footsteps and you both always see the good in people. Well Lloyd did until..someone," Cole hints to Harumi but he didn't want to talk about her if Lloyd hadn't told her yet.

"Someone hurt my cousin?! How dare they? I have to go and beat them up!" Sophie cries out.

"It's taken care of, trust me. No need to get worked up, just focus on resting and healing," Cole stops her from getting up.

"It was probably a while ago too," Sophie lays back down. "Doesn't change the fact that I want to beat her up."

"Haha I'm sure it doesn't...this is how you know that Lloyd is younger than you," Cole laughs.

"Oh yeah, not meaning anything against him but I just take stuff a little too close to heart..it's what I've been told anyway," Sophie sighs.

"Well it's not always a bad thing..but it does come back to haunt you doesn't it?" Cole question.

"A lot more times than I can count since I've left that house of mine," Sophie answers gloomily.

"We're all here for you Soph. No need to worry anymore. Also what's that plan of yours?" Cole tried to change the subject.

"Oh. I didn't tell you..well the sword Acheron gave me is from the Oni realm..that means I can give Acheron the Overlord. I just need to put the sword into his skin," Sophie explains.

"Oh we were thinking that we could lure Acheron to a solitary spot...that could be done then," Cole puts the two plans together.

"That's a good idea! Also, do you think any of your guys could use the sword? Like Lloyd? I'm injured and I don't think I could do it," Sophie looks over the bandages on her body.

"How would you transfer the Overlord into the sword? Also are you sure Lloyd can even use it?" Cole questions.

"Good point...I can't let Lloyd use it because it's attached to me..also I have no idea how to put the Overlord into the sword," Sophie answers. "I just know how to transfer him."

"Will it hurt?" Cole asks. Most important question of all, Cole thinks.

"Losing a part of yourself...sure sounds like it'll hurt," Sophie guesses.

"As long as you're alive and healthy it shouldn't matter," Cole shrugs slightly.

"Yeah I guess so," Sophie mummers. "I think I'm going to try and sleep again."

"Alright. Good night," Cole says, he puts his head back down but glances up at Sophie anyway. She clearly couldn't fall asleep. Her eyes kept on opening after a few seconds of being closed.

Cole reaches out towards Sophie's good hand and holds it.

Sophie looks over at her hand, it suddenly felt so peaceful. Smiling at Cole's hand on hers, Sophie closes her eyes again.

"Goodnight Cole," Sophie mumbles.

Cole couldn't help but smile. It just sounded nice coming from her.

The sun filters in from the windows in the hospital room. Sophie opens her eyes and sees that everyone is sleeping. Expect she couldn't find Kai or Zane.

As if the universe knew, the two ninja walk in with plates of food.

But there was a lot of noise coming from them.

"Zane! We gotta be more quiet!" Kai whispers.

"I am trying. But how do you expect for metal plates not to make sound?" Zane whispers back with slight annoyance.

"Haha you guys sure are secretive," Sophie laughs.

"Ah!" Kai's eye's widen in surprise. "Oh did we wake you?"

"Nope. But that food sure smells good," Sophie looks over at the plates.

"Pancakes with chocolate syrup. We both figured we would get breakfast for everyone," Zane explains the multiple plates.

"Yeah but we were a few hands short," Kai says as the nurses bring in the other plates and set them on the table before leaving.

"Is hospital food actually good?" Sophie asks.

"Depends how your taste buds like pancakes," Zane answers.

"My taste buds love pancakes," Sophie grins.

"As if that wasn't obvious from your reaction," Kai ruffles Sophie's hair after he puts the plates he had on the table.

"Hey! I can't even fix my hair!" Sophie laughs.

"I'm a hair expert, I've got ya," Kai boasts.

"Well he is not wrong about that one thing," Zane chuckles.

"If Zane says you're good than you must be pretty good," Sophie grins.

"Well duh. I've got your hair, leave it to me," Kai pulls out all sorts of hair supplies. Sophie and Zane stare at Kai in disbelief.

"What?" Kai looks at them.

"How...do you have all that hair gel and other products..?" Zane questions.

"How did they even fit..?" Sophie adds.

"Stuffed them into the pockets of this ninja suit. There's a lot of them surprisingly," Kai seems surprised. He starts to style Sophie's hair.

"Which are meant for weapons to protect not hair supplies," Zane explains.

"They do protect! Why else do you think I get away with no injuries?" Kai asks, getting rid of the frizz on Sophie's hair.

"You have got to be kidding me.." Zane shakes his head, then facepalms.

"Done! Check out your hair now Soph!" Kai pulls out a mirror and shows Sophie her hair.

"You know what I'm not even going to ask," Zane looks just about done with Kai.

"It's amazing!" Sophie smiles. "You really are an expert."

"Well yes I am," Kai lets his ego grow a little.
