Chapter 17

"Can't we go any faster?" Lloyd mumbles to himself as he stares at the screen.

"If you want to overheat the boosters, sure," Nya answers for him, as she taps at the control panel. "Very helpful," Lloyd rolls his eyes.

"I saw that eye roll mister. Look, I'm just as anxious as you are but we can't do anything about how far we are," Nya sighs, looking up at the screen again.

Cole stares at the screen, his eyes not moving away from it for a moment. Lloyd points silently at his direction, mouthing to Nya, 'what's-he-so-intense-about?'

Nya looks over at Cole. His arms are crossed and his stare is hard and angry, it might even be annoyed and hurt for all she knew. Nya mouthed back, 'I-have-no-idea.' Lloyd then shrugs, assuming that everyone would be worried at this point.

Kai comes in, followed by Zane, with food. "Food's here, eat up or I will personally feed you," Kai announces and sets a plate of food near everyone. "No need for that," Lloyd shakes his head and starts to eat the delicious food. Zane smiles when he sees the softened look of Lloyd after he ate the food.

"Eat up well. The nutrients are good for you," Zane adds on.

Nya glances at the food then turns back to the screen. She looks briefly at Kai, who glares at her, then eats the food. Nya smiles a bit, the food sure made her feel better.

Kai takes the plate to Cole, who continues to eat it, never taking his eyes off of the screen. Kai didn't say anything and went back to take his own plate from Zane. They both of them sit down near the others. Jay comes in a moment later, with his own plate of food and sitting near Nya.

Wu pops in, looking at the ninja eating. "Good, you all need the food," Wu nods his head approvingly.

"Isn't anyone the least bit worried about the danger with Sophie being in a public place while she's wanted by Acheron?" Lloyd asks randomly.

"If by that you mean Acheron coming to get her in a public area and possibly hurting or killing people then yes," Nya nods.

"So what are we going to do about Acheron though?" Jay asks, he tries to come up with some ideas but they all didn't really work.

"I have no ideas on how to deal with that," Zane answers, his fingers tapping on his leg. He seems a little nervous, and worried.

"I don't know either.." Lloyd sighs. He just wanted to find out how Sophie was doing. He figured they could deal with Acheron later. Lloyd also wanted to deal with him personally, but he knows that wouldn't end well.

"Why don't we just lure him to a place we have the advantage over?" Cole suggests. Everyone turns to looks at him. "What? It's an idea."

"It's a good idea," Nya nods. "We can get him to a remote area and then attack."

"And we can lure him by saying that Sophie is wherever we're going to use," Kai adds. "But we're not going to leave her alone to get kidnapped again."

"Look at us coming up up with a plan together!" Jay smiles. "But yeah, we're going to have to be super careful."

The ninja all nod silently. A little bit of hope finally started to go around and they all felt that maybe, just maybe they could pull this off.

"Sophie!"

Sophie opens her eyes to a bright light. I'm in heaven aren't I? Sophie looks to her side and sees a red blurb. Her vision focuses and she sees Skylor sitting there.

"Skylor? Am I dead?" Sophie asks, her voice groggy and soft.

"You're not dead! You're alive and thank goodness for that!" Skylor takes a deep breath in relief. "You had me so scared. Don't ever do something like ever again Sophie!"

"What did I do?" Sophie raises an eyebrow.

"You got kidnapped by Acheron and then turned evil?! Then I find you in the middle of the woods practically dead!" Skylor cries out in disbelief.

"Oh yeah...I remember that now," Sophie's face scrunches in thought. She shakes her head lightly.

"I'm gonna be honest, you're a scary villain," Skylor chuckles nervously. "But that's all in the past now."

"Yeah..how am I me right now..?" Sophie looks down at herself and sees her arm in a cast along with her other leg in a boot.

"I'm assuming they forced it. 'Cause they were super against it before," Skylor shrugs.

"Probably," Sophie mumbles to herself before wincing in pain. "I actually saw Miranda...and I think a man named Garmadon. They were trying to tell me something..I can't remember it."

Skylor looks confused, watching Sophie think. "Like in a dream? That's probably normal since you miss Miranda. But Garmadon? You've never seen him before.." Skylor thinks too.

Did they somehow visit Sophie in her dreams from the dead? That's strange, as far as Skylor knew, there was no way the dead could communicate with the living.

Well then again, there were many ways the living could communicate with the dead but how could that have happened?

Skylor shakes her head lightly before looking at Sophie again, concern flooding her face as she watches Sophie slowly look more and more confused and lost.

"What did they do to you?" Skylor questions in a quiet voice, looking over the broken bones.

"I thought Acheron might have a good heart. But clearly..his plan was to have this me get injured in order to retreat into my subconscious-ness like alternative me did," Sophie stops talking and moves to sit up.

"So he beat you up..?" Skylor guesses, her fists tightening.

Sophie closes her eyes a takes a deep breath before nodding 'yes'. "Elevarians. They are the Oni, Acheron gave them a different name," Sophie starts randomly remembering things. "I have the sword! I can transfer Overlord to Acheron with it!" Sophie exclaims as her eyes widen.

"What? You can do that? That means that no one needs to kill you! And Acheron won't bother you anymore..and we can defeat Acheron.." Skylor's eyes gleam. She grins, feeling like the tables have turned. "Wait." Skylor's face turns grim. "This won't hurt you in anyway?"

"Obviously it'll hurt getting rid of a part of me. The dark, Overlord part. But that's really not important, what's important is that if we can pull this off...we can defeat Acheron!" Sophie grins and turns to look directly at Skylor.
