"Where are you taking me?" I asked as Carmen whistled for a taxi while she waited on the sidewalk.

"We need the perfect place for you to write your book. A place which will also distract me from your distasteful comments after each question and hopefully enable you to talk less." She winked at me before entering the cab that soon pulled up In front of us.

I took in a deep breath, slumping my shoulders before getting in too.

"Where to?" The driver asked.

"The Brooklyn Pub." She answered making me widen my eyes.

"How the fuck will being at a bar help?" I whisper yelled.

"When one is intoxicated, their natural behavior is lost. Also is there a better way to get detailed answers than when I'm shitfaced drunk?" She said just before her phone lit up in her hands. I couldn't see who it was because of how fast she had turned it off.

"Aren't we at our worst when we're 'shifaced drunk' ?" I asked.

"Exactly." She answered just as the car ride started.

After a mildly awkward taxi ride and carmen tipping the driver, we made it to the pub.

"Don't embarrass me, I've got lots of friends here and a high reputation, so you being you isn't what I need right now, got it?" She pushed the glass doors and walked in to the building with me behind her like a little boy.

It was like the beginning of a wrestling match. Her name was being chanted with greetings here and there as everyone did seem to know her.

"Who do we have here?" I heard a female voice ask before its source walked over to us with a grin on her face as she eyed me up and down, giving Carmen a questionable look.

"Hey Bri." Carmen smiles at the woman before turning to me. "Before you get all Nancy Drew on me, this is Micah." She gestured her hands towards my direction as I gave the woman an awkward smile.

"Why would I get that way? I obviously know that there'd have to be good reason for you bringing in a guy who isn't Elijah." She giggled to her self while Carmen remained silent, as if she were analyzing something.

"Yeah..." She said lowly.

"Well you guys should head over to the bar and have your selves something whipped up." She pointed behind her to where the bar tenders were stationed.

"No thanks, well just head upstairs." Carmen rejected her the offer with that tone again and pulled me by my arm to get us away from her friend before the conversation got any further.

"Hey Freddy." She said to a guy who I could have sworn was Dwayne Johnson. The guy moved away from the spot he stood at revealing a door I didn't know had existed till now leading up to a staircase.

Carmen pulled me to the first room on the floor we were on.

"Why do I feel like we're not here just to write." My eyes narrowed towards the bed.

It was a bedroom, a really nice one with a plasma screen, sitting area and a mini bar right where she stood mixing up drinks already.
