"Have you spoken to your sister since that night Micah?" The woman said to me with her arms folded with her disapproved stare looking as if it could pierce my chest any dying second from now.

"I tried to like you said I should but she wont answer." I say. "She never will. She's stubborn."

She sat opposite me in her dinning. I don't know why she had called me over, to lash out again?

"She won't or you didn't try?" She questioned.

"Whatever story you want to believe." I shrugged my shoulders.

"It's impossible to say who is more stubborn between you two." She placed her hands on mine from across the table.

"You know how she is and what she did to my girlfriend was disrespectful. In other words she should be the one apologizing to me."

"You have to be the bigger person and apologize to your sister. I know you have been trying, at least I think you have, but you will keep trying. Do you know why?"

Her tone had changed from the calm sweet way everyone knows her for. The way it always does when she's about to scold one of us.

"Why?"

"Because no matter how old you two get, I won't stop at letting you know how strong your family bond is. Even if it means you two getting your asses whooped.

I swallowed hard. Taking in my mothers words.

"Whatever."

                                               •••

"I'm Carmen, your brothers very good friend. It's so great to finally meet you." I scoff as Carmen stretches out her hand for Ava to take as she accepts it.

"Hey, Its so good to meet Micah's very good friend." Ava's smug expression cannot go unnoticed as she shakes Carmen's hand.

"How, long have you too been friends?" There's a hint of amusement in her tone.

"For a month now. It could have been more but, you know your brother." She covers her mouth with the back of her hand attempts to make it seem as if it were a secret.

"Believe me I don't. I always question myself if we're even related." Ava still hadn't look at or said a word to me.

"Well, you two look nothing alike anyways." I shot a glare towards Carmen after she spoke out her thought abruptly before I coughed in hope of ending this horrible conversation.

"Yeah, we get that a lot. Hey, I should get going, Christmas sales don't wait for anyone y'know." Ava said hurriedly before walking away from us sending a smile to just Carmen despite her pleas for Ava to stay a bit longer.

"Later I guess?" Carmen looked over her shoulder and watched my sister leave.

"She was so excited to see you." Carmen rolled her eyes as she and I proceeded in our walk down the street. "Is she always so distant to her beloved brother?" She added, joking. Obviously.

"Forget about her Carmen."

"I can't just forget about your baby sister Delgado. Call me crazy, but I got this weird vibe that felt a little salty about you two, it's like you guys didn't even know the other person was right there. I won't ask, knowing it's none of my business. You do have a history of getting into conflicts with most of the humans that walk on this earth, and now that we are working towards being friends all over again, it wouldn't hurt to, y'know, explain why Ava clearly couldn't even blink at you."
